The stage is set for the National Championship on Monday as #10 Miami faces #1 Indiana. The Hoosiers have steamrolled the competition so far in the College Football Playoff, and online sportsbooks expect that trend to continue per the latest college football odds.

Indiana is currently a sizeable favorite 24 hours before kickoff, and chances are high the spread will only increase as we get closer to game time.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm ET from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, FL, with ESPN providing the broadcast coverage.

Here are the latest Miami vs Indiana odds, spread and line movement for the National Championship.

Miami vs Indiana Odds and Spread

The Hoosiers are currently favored by 7.5 points across most online sportsbooks, while the total sits at 47.5. The spread was sitting at -8.5 across the industry up until Sunday, when a flurry of Hurricanes money forced the line down.

Indiana opened up as a 7.5 point favorite as they look to cap off a perfect season, and were quickly bet up a point. The total opened a full point higher at 48.5, but given the quality of both defenses on paper, it wasn’t a shock to see that number bet down.

Miami vs Indiana Line Movement for National Championship

As you can see, we’ve seen some line movement over the last week and I don’t think we’re through seeing these odds shift. As we get closer to Monday night, I expect the public to hammer the Indiana spread, forcing books to raise the price to bet on the CFP National Championship odds favorite.

The spread move towards Miami is surprising and I believe temporary. This is a nightmare matchup for the Canes, as Indiana is equipped to handle their vaunted pass rush, while the Hoosiers defense ranks inside the top-10 in almost every key metric.

The more people dig deep on the Hoosiers, the more they’ll like what they discover. 12 of Indiana’s 15 wins this season have come by at least 10 points, including both CFP outings. They outscored #9 Alabama and #5 Oregon by a combined 69 points, while head coach Curt Cignetti has been a cover machine in the FBS. His teams are 34-17 against the spread, and 29-14 ATS as favorites.

Anyone with access to projections is going to be racing to bet Indiana as well, as most advanced models have them closer to an 11-point favorite.

History is also on line for the Hoosiers as they’re looking to become the first program since 2001 to win the National Championship after boasting preseason title odds of 100-1 or longer.

Biggest Longshots to Reach the CFP Final Four

Program (Year)Odds (Result)
TCU (2022)200-1 (Lost in Final)
Cincinnati (2021)150-1 (Lost in Semifinal)
Michigan (2021)100-1 (Lost in Semifinal)
Indiana (2025)100-1 (?)

Miami meanwhile, opened the preseason with 30-1 championship odds, but defensive cracks in their semifinal win over Ole Miss should raise flags with bettors. The Hurricanes front couldn’t get home versus the Rebels, which led to a shootout in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Ole Miss offensive line is formidable, but it pales in comparison to what Indiana will trot out on Monday. The Hoosiers are stout in protection ranking top-16 in run and pass blocking metrics. If the Miami pass rush can’t get home that will expose the back half of its defense, which ranks outside the top-85 in tackling and explosive play rate allowed.

Poor tackling and a propensity to yield chunk plays on the Miami side are just two reasons this total is likely to tick up. Another, is the sheer strength of the Indiana offense. Led by Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, the Hoosiers average 40.4 points per game, and rank top-eight in points and yards per play.

No team is better at converting third downs and extending drives, and if Mendoza and the passing attack doesn’t cook the Canes, Indiana can always lean on its prolific rushing attack. The Hoosiers ran for 185 yards and 2 TD versus the Ducks in the CFP semifinal, helping them easily clearing the 48.5 point total on their own.

If you’re looking to bet Indiana act now, as this line isn’t going to stay at -7.5 for long. Same with the total, over 47.5 is going to be a thing of the past shortly, so if you expect a high scoring game you must act quickly.

If you’re looking to fade the public, I’d sit tight until just before kickoff. I expect you’ll get much better numbers on both Miami and the under then, and when it comes to being a successful bettor, every point matters.
