My best player prop bets card starts with under 202.5 passing yards for backup Tigers QB Michael Van Buren. He’ll be making just his fourth career start, and will be operating behind second and third string offensive linemen.

LSU vs Houston Player Props Bet #1: Michael Van Buren Passing Yards

• Michael Van Buren Under 202.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Van Buren hasn’t exactly turned heads in his first three starts. He’s completed less than 60% of his throws in each of his past two outings, throwing for an average of only 149 yards per game. Most of the LSU starting offensive line show up in the college football opt outs tracker, while their most talented receiver Aaron Anderson won’t suit up either.

The Houston defense on the other hand, is mostly healthy, and ranks above average in all key metrics against the pass.

Even when the Tigers were healthy, they were not an efficient offense. They ranked outside the top-100 in early down success rate, EPA/play and EPA/pass. Imagine how badly they’re going to struggle without their most important pieces.

LSU vs Houston Player Props Bet #2: Conner Weigman Rushing Yards

• Conner Weigman Over 44.5 Rushing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Over half of LSU’s starting defense won’t suit up tonight, paving the way for a big game for Weigman. The dual threat QB should find success through the air and on the ground, but it’s his legs that I’m most interested in.

Weigman ranked second on the Cougars this season in rushing yards and attempts, carrying the ball over 13 times per game. He cleared 80+ rushing yards in five of his final six starts, eclipsing the 100-yard mark three times.

Over 44.5 rushing yards is the safe bet tonight, but I’m also going to bet some of his rushing escalators as well. He’s +320 to hit 80+ yards, +430 to reach 90+ yards, and +580 to cross the century mark. Considering his rushing prowess and the state of the Tigers defense, each of those outcomes are very much in play.

LSU vs Houston Player Props Bet #3: Amare Thomas Anytime TD

• Amare Thomas Anytime TD (+105 at FanDuel)

While we’re on the subject of plus-money wagers, how about an anytime Thomas touchdown at +105 odds. He accomplished the feat 10 times this season, scoring 6 TD in his final four outings.

Thomas racked up 255 more receiving yards and 5 more TD than any other Houston pass catcher, and should feast against the Tigers secondary that’s missing its top three corners, including projected 1st round NFL Draft pick Mansoor Delane.
