Do you guys want a little honesty? I’ll give you some. The College Football Playoff was a pipe dream back when I was a kid. Back then, we had a bunch of old guys sitting around in a hotel room somewhere, ranking the teams based on where they went to school. We literally had people telling us who the best teams were. Now, they let the kids play for the Natty, which I think we can all get behind.

To celebrate, I think we should bet on these kids. We can’t have them out there playing for nothing. Lucky for us, I’ve got the perfect way to play the first two games of the day. We’re going to bed winners tonight. Feels good.

College Football Conference Championship Pick #1 – Texas A&M Will Be Ready

If we’re being honest, the College Football Playoff is awesome. We get game after game of teams that will do anything to stay alive. And that makes me want to do one thing, bet an over and watch the scoreboard light up like a Christmas tree.

And the first thing any gambler needs for a proper over is an experienced quarterback. Not only do we have one in Marcel Reed, but he’s also a guy they love in College Station.

Because of Reed, this game has over written all over it. He’s the perfect quarterback for this situation. Sure, Miami’s defense gets a ton of shine, but when they go on the road, they can be had through the air. We all saw Kevin Jennings go for 365 yards on them a little over a month ago. These guys aren’t invincible.

On the flip side, the Hurricanes have a guy in Carson Beck who can fuel a shootout. This kid has thrown 10 touchdowns in his last three games. Plus, he’s got that SEC pedigree we all love to see since he played at Georgia. I’m thinking we’re looking at a 31-27 type game, which flies over the posted total. Feels easy.

College Football Conference Championship Pick #2 – We Should Get Points From Tulane and Ole Miss

If you pay attention to what the talking heads on ESPN say, then nobody wants to watch the second game. It features a Tulane team that doesn’t even belong in the playoffs. Sure, they won their conference, but it’s a weak conference, so who cares?

Nick Saban legit compared it to a Triple-A baseball team in the MLB Playoffs.

Honestly, Nick is kind of right, but at the same time, Tulane did what they needed to do to get into the playoffs. Sure, they already got their asses kicked by Ole Miss this season, but they won their conference, so they’ve earned the right to get throttled again. The thing is, a lot has changed since the last time Tulane went to Oxford.

We all know by now that Lane Kiffin won’t be coaching the Rebels this time around, but Tulane’s coach, Jon Sumrall, is leaving next season as well. Sumrall will coach this game, which I think is a good thing for Tulane. Will they cover 17.5 points? Who really knows? But I do think they can score 20+ points on these Rebels, and that would put this game over the posted total. Final score, Ole Miss 38 – Tulane 24. Feels easy.
