• This week, we can focus on teams that are looking for “style points.”

We’re getting to the time of the year when the men get separated from the boys. This is it, the home stretch. Not only can some teams not afford to mess up, but they also need to beat the crap out of who they play. We’re in style point season, and if we’re being honest, there is no better time of the year.

All we have to do is find two rando teams that are ranked pretty high, playing teams that are just playing out the string. What ends up happening is, the rando teams end up running up the score on the teams who just want the season to end. The randos simply don’t know any better. It’s not like they’re here every season.

Lucky for us, we’ve got two teams in the top 5 that have no idea what they’re doing there. All they know is, if they keep killing people, they’ll be in the playoffs. We should back these little killing machines. Feels right.

Week 12 College Football Pick #1 – Texas A&M Will Hang Points Saturday

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Slop, why not just take Texas A&M on the spread if we think they’re going to roll?” That’s a great question. The answer is simple: if these kids just so happen to give up a few points, we’re still safe with their team total. They may not cover, but we know they’re scoring a million.

How do we know? Because it’s their last SEC game at home this season, and there’s no place like home.

Here’s the thing: the Texas A&M defense isn’t great, so there is always the chance the Aggies get scored on, which causes this thing to go nuclear. But even if that doesn’t happen, we still have outs. For starters, we’re talking about a team that averages 6.7 yards per play. They’ve scored 38+ points in each of their last three games. There were even a couple of 40-burgers in there, too. Translation: we likely won’t need South Carolina to play along here.

On top of just being a very good offense, Texas A&M has a little extra motivation to embarrass these South Carolina kids. If you remember last year, the Aggies got pumped 44-20 by the Gamecocks. That loss literally ruined everything for the Aggies. My guess is they return the favor this year and hang a 40-piece on the Gamecocks. Feels like the move.

Week 12 College Football Pick #2 – Indiana Will Roll Wisconsin

There is nothing like having two plus-money bangers going at the same time. That is exactly what will be happening to us today because we’ve got another one during the noon slot. We are blessed beyond belief but I think we already know that.

What makes this one even better is, we’re backing another Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist in this one.

Fernando Mendoza is legit. Everyone knows that already. We just watched him go to Penn State and pull out a win last week to keep the Indiana Hoosiers undefeated and ranked number two in the country. Now, he’ll lead the Hoosiers in Bloomington one final time in 2025.

It’s not that Mendoza and Indiana are just good; they’re hanging points all over people. We’ve seen two 50-spots in the last three weeks. This team has playoff and Heisman aspirations, so they’re going to need style points. We’ve already seen this Wisconsin team give up 34+ points three times this season, so they are ripe to pick on. I’m thinking they get a 40-burger dropped right on their chest today. There’s really nothing they can do about it. Feels easy.
