Troy vs Jacksonville State Player Props: Best Bets for Tuesday Night
By Brady Trettenero in College Football
Published:
- Jacksonville State QB Caden Creel has rushed for 100+ yards in five of his last six games heading into the Salute to Veterans Bowl
- Troy QB Tucker Kilcrease has thrown for 1 or fewer touchdowns in eight of ten games this season
- Check out the best Troy vs Jacksonville State player props for Tuesday night’s bowl game
The Salute to Veterans Bowl brings a clear offensive contrast to Montgomery on Tuesday night. Troy arrives with a pass-heavy attack that’s generated 2,800 passing yards this season. Jacksonville State counters with a ground game that’s racked up 3,354 rushing yards.
The Gamecocks enter as 3-point favorites after the line swung 4.5 points from its opening number. That market movement shows where the sharp money landed, and it fits Jacksonville State’s identity.
Bowl games are notoriously tough to handicap. Opt-outs, injuries, and motivation issues make spread and total markets less reliable than during the regular season. That’s where college football player props offer better value for this matchup.
Troy vs Jacksonville State Player Props
Creel’s 105.5-yard rushing line sits below his recent form. He’s averaging 118.2 rushing yards over his last six games with four straight 100-yard performances before a dip against Kennesaw State.
The market has already moved this line up 10 yards from its opening number. Johnson’s receptions line of 2.5 is heavily juiced to the over at -144, showing the market expects him to be a consistent target.

Troy vs Jacksonville State Prop #1: Caden Creel Over 105.5 Rushing Yards
Creel has been a workhorse down the stretch. His 83.5 yards per game average doesn’t tell the full story when you look at his recent performance.
The dual-threat quarterback has cleared 100 yards in five of his last six games. That includes 143 yards against Western Kentucky, 134 against UTEP, and 127 versus Kennesaw State earlier in the season.
His 6.4 yards per carry shows he’s running efficiently. Jacksonville State’s offense runs through Creel’s legs, with the Gamecocks amassing 3,354 rushing yards as a team this season.
Troy’s defense has to respect Creel’s passing ability too. He’s thrown for 677 yards and eight touchdowns, forcing defenses to stay honest. That creates running lanes when they can’t load the box.
The sharp money has already spoken by moving this line 10 yards higher. Bowl games favor teams that can control the clock and limit possessions, which fits Jacksonville State’s ground-and-pound approach.
- Pick: Caden Creel Over 105.5 Rushing Yards (-113 at FanDuel)
Troy vs Jacksonville State Prop #2: Deondre Johnson Over 2.5 Receptions
While Jacksonville State is renowned for its ground game, the betting market has shown increasing confidence in receiver Deondre Johnson’s role in the passing attack.
Johnson’s receiving yards prop has soared from 43.5 to 52.5. His receptions line of 2.5 is juiced to the over at -144, showing the market expects volume.
After a slow start to the season, Johnson has exploded down the stretch. He averaged just 0.9 receptions per game in his first seven contests but has become Creel’s primary target.
Johnson has cleared 2.5 receptions in four of his last six games, averaging 3.2 catches per game during that stretch. If Troy slows Jacksonville State’s ground game, Creel will look to the air, and Johnson benefits.
He’s not just a volume receiver either. Johnson scores on 25% of his receptions with six touchdowns on just 24 catches this season, averaging 26.0 yards per reception.
- Pick: Deondre Johnson Over 2.5 Receptions (-144 at FanDuel)
Troy vs Jacksonville State Prop #3: Tucker Kilcrease Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Note: Some sportsbooks have pulled this market off the board as of Monday afternoon. Check your book for availability.
The numbers don’t lie with Kilcrease. He’s thrown for just nine touchdowns in ten games this season, averaging 0.9 per contest.
Eight of his ten games have gone under this 1.5 number. That’s an 80% hit rate on the under. His last three games produced zero passing touchdowns, and he’s been more dangerous with his legs than his arm all season.
Jacksonville State’s defense creates havoc. The Gamecocks boast a plus-8 turnover differential with 12 interceptions on the season. That ball-hawking secondary ends drives and flips field position.
The market has this one priced correctly at -192 on the under. That heavy juice shows books expect Kilcrease to struggle reaching two passing touchdowns.
Troy’s 86.5% red zone conversion rate looks good on paper. But converting red zone trips into passing touchdowns against a defense that creates turnovers at this rate is a different beast.
Kilcrease has five rushing touchdowns this season compared to nine passing. Bowl games typically see more conservative play-calling, and mobile quarterbacks who can pick up yards with their legs in short-yardage situations get those opportunities.
- Pick: Tucker Kilcrease Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-192) – if available at your book
Troy vs Jacksonville State Touchdown Props
Running back Cam Cook leads the touchdown market at -270. Creel sits at -170 after his recent scoring streak, while Johnson’s odds have shortened from +300 to +195 as money came in on the receiver.
Troy vs Jacksonville State Prop #4: Caden Creel Anytime TD Scorer
Creel has been red-hot finding the end zone on the ground. He’s scored a rushing touchdown in three straight games heading into the bowl.
He’s scored a rushing touchdown in six of 13 games this season, giving him a 46% scoring rate on the ground. At 169 carries and 6.4 yards per attempt, he gets plenty of volume and can score from anywhere on the field.
As the quarterback, he’s getting designed runs in the red zone, making him Jacksonville State’s most reliable goal-line weapon. Troy’s defense has to respect his passing ability (677 yards, 8 TDs), which creates massive opportunities for QB runs and scrambles when they can’t load the box.
His recent form is what makes this play stand out. Four rushing touchdowns in his last six games shows he’s trending up at the right time. Bowl games favor dual-threat quarterbacks who can control the game with their legs.
- Pick: Caden Creel Anytime TD Scorer (-170 at FanDuel)
