Tulane vs Memphis Predictions
On paper, Tulane and Memphis are fairly even squads. The Green Wave are 6-2 with strong wins over Duke and Army, while the Tigers sit at 8-1 with an eye on the College Football Playoff.
But Memphis’ top-tier rushing attack will make the difference on Friday night. The Tigers sit fifth in EPA per rush in the country, with an offensive rushing success rate of 48%.
That bodes well against a Green Wave defense that ranks 98th in EPA per rush and 104th overall in defensive success rate.
Memphis averages a wild 196 rushing yards per game (20th) on five yards per carry (22nd). Look for the dynamic dual-threat skills of quarterback Brendon Lewis to lead Memphis to victory at home in this Tulane vs Memphis pick.

Tulane Betting Trends
Tulane will be live dogs on Friday night, as the Green Wave are 17-3 SU in their last 20 games on the road, and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against Memphis.
Jon Sumrall’s squad turned the ball over four times in their loss to UTSA, with their quarterbacks throwing three interceptions. The Green Wave rushing attack has been nonexistent across the last three games, as no player but starting quarterback Jake Retzlaff has crossed 40 yards.
A dual-threat maestro, Retzlaff has played consistent football under center, completing 59% of passes for 1,622 yards and seven touchdowns with three interceptions. The junior has added 513 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, so look out for the quarterback keeper when Tulane gets in the red zone.
Defensively, the Green Wave struggle to stop the run, allowing over 157 rushing yards per game on 4 yards per carry. On the year, Tulane has surrendered over 400 yards of total offense and 25.5 points per game.
Plus, they struggle to get off the field on third downs, ranking 98th in third down success rate. Tulane’s front seven has been less than impressive this year, posting a poor pressure rate and just 15 sacks.
Memphis Betting Trends
Memphis loves playing at home, where they’re 5-0 ATS in their last five games. On top of that, the Tigers are 8-1 SU in their last nine home games against the Green Wave.
Tigers quarterback Brendon Lewis leads an efficient offense averaging over 6.8 yards per play and 36.8 points per game. The Tigers own an efficient passing attack, tossing for over 8.1 yards per pass, but it’s their ground game that puts this unit over the top.
On the less glamorous side of the football, Memphis surrenders just 20 points per game and 5.2 yards per play. The Tigers have given up more than 30 points just three times this season and have contained the offenses of Arkansas and South Florida.
While the Green Wave will present a considerable challenge, the Tigers should have little problem shutting down the run and containing the Tulane passing attack.
Tulane vs Memphis Odds
The Tigers are 3.5-point favorites for Friday night’s AAC showdown in the college football odds. The Tulane vs Memphis total sits at 54.5 with the under favored at -115 and the over coming back at -105.
According to the college football public betting splits, 92% of moneyline wagers and 66% of spread wagers are on Memphis.
