College Football Upset Picks Week 12 – Underdog Predictions for Nov. 15

• We split the deck on Week 11, and now I am back with my top Week 12 college football picks against the spread
• I have my eyes on the American Conference race, plus a marquee game in the afternoon at Pitt

Things looked bleak; my first two upset picks last week were poor, giving me a six-game losing streak. However, I had faith in Delaware, and they rallied (thanks to an incredible onside kick). Then, Kentucky dominated Florida.

That sets me up with more confidence moving forward with my Week 12 college football upset picks against the spread. There are some interesting numbers on the board. I can’t quite pull the trigger on Texas over Georgia, but they were like pick 4A here.

CFB Upset Picks: Notre Dame at Pitt +10

Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi did something really interesting this week in his press conference, saying that, honestly, this game didn’t matter that much because of the Panthers’ two conference games to come.

My take is either Narduzzi thinks his team is really in trouble, or he’s watched the tape and he thinks his team is going to win big. Everyone is talking about Notre Dame freshman QB CJ Carr, but Pitt turned to a true freshman behind center a few weeks ago, Mason Heintschel, and he’s gone 5-0.

But my Spidey Sense is tingling for this game. The weather forecast is for rainy and windy. Pitt has the No. 3 defense in the country against the run at 80 yards a game. I’m betting Narduzzi liked what he saw on film.

CFB Upset Prediction: South Florida at Navy +10

One of my favorite models for picking upsets is teams that get a lot of points at home. Navy and South Florida are each 7-2. The loser of this one is out of the American Conference title chase.

Navy got whacked by Notre Dame last week, but Middies QB Blake Horvath didn’t play in that one. No one would ever say it, but deep down, you know Navy didn’t really think it had a shot and wanted to save Horvath for this one.

South Florida is legit. Bulls QB Bynum Brown is putting up over 300 yards of offense a game, but Navy won this game last year 28-7. Even if South Florida wins, I can’t see it being a blowout.

CFB Upset Pick: Florida Atlantic +17.5 at Tulane

The Owls are 4-5, 5-4 against the spread and coming off a 40-21 win over Toledo. They’ve won four of their last five against the spread.

I just feel like this is too many points to give Tulane. The Green Wave is 7-2 straight up, and 5-4 against the spread. They beat East Carolina by seven, Army by seven and Memphis last week by six. They just don’t blow anyone out.

It’s Homecoming for Tulane, and that gives the Wave a boost, but I also like that FAU has covered the last four times against unranked teams. 17.5 is too many points.

CFB Upset Pick Virginia Tech +12.5 at Florida State

I have picked Florida State to get beat ATS multiple times this season and am 2-1 in doing so. Last week, the Seminoles were outclassed by Clemson, and that meant all the talk about Noles coach Mike Norvell started up again. The truth is, Florida State racked up some big numbers against bad teams early in the season (I can’t explain the Alabama game either, though).

Virginia Tech won its first two games for interim coach Philip Montgomery, but has tanked lately and is 2-8 against the spread in its last 10 games. But I think the Hokies see the light at the end of the tunnel, while Florida State just sees more misery.
