Manchester United (-133) vs. Liverpool (+350) (Draw +280)

This Sunday, two of the most storied and successful teams in the English Premier League will go head-to-head as Liverpool travels to Old Trafford to face Manchester United (8:30 a.m. Eastern).

Manchester United is a big home-favorite for Sunday’s game, sitting at -133 in the moneyline; while Liverpool is a +350 underdog and the draw is at +280.

The Reds and Red Devils have met 162 times in Premier League competition.  United has a slight advantage in the series with 63 wins to Liverpool’s 55. (The other 44 meetings ended in a draw.)

However, Liverpool have had success at Old Trafford in the past.  The Reds’ five away wins over Man U are second only to Chelsea (six). Captain Steven Gerrard, in particular, enjoys playing in the “Theatre of Dreams”; he  has scored more goals at Old Trafford (5) than any other visiting player.

Manchester United comes into Sunday’s match on a five-game winning streak, which has seen them shoot up to third in the EPL table (28 points and a record 8W, 4D, 3L), one point up on West Ham, but still five back of second-place Man City.

The mood could scarcely be more different on the Liverpool sideline.  The Reds were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League midweek with a draw against Basel; in addition, they have only two wins in their last five EPL games.  The recent drought has dropped Liverpool to ninth in the table. They are sitting on 21 points (6W, 3D, 6L) and are level on goals.

With the Red Devils at home and playing their best soccer in ages, bet United to win by a goal.
