Arsenal (+162) at Liverpool (+187), Draw (+240)
The best matchup of the English Premier League this week will see league-leading Arsenal visiting Anfield to face Liverpool today (3:00 PM Eastern).
The Gunners haven’t played outstanding soccer, but the EPL has been so unpredictable this season they have been able to take advantage of several unexpected results. Arsenal currently lead the standings with 42 points after 20 games, two ahead of Leicester City.
The Gunners haven’t been great away from home, taking only four of the last 12 points on offer.  They have won five of six, overall, though, with a loss to Southampton the only blemish.
Wenger sees that momentum playing a big role today.
“The momentum creates confidence and confidence is vital,” Wenger told the Independent. “In December and now in January we have been consistent and we go into a very important part of the season because we play many games, and that consistency is a good basis to go into the next game with the right belief.”
Liverpool are having a disappointing season, currently sitting eighth in the table with 30 points, 12 back of Arsenal. They had a mini two-game win streak on the go, but fell to West Ham (2-0) in their last EPL match.
After facing Arsenal at home, they will host Manchester United on Sunday. The results of those two games could set the tone for the remainder of the season.
Manager Jurgen Klopp recognizes he’ll be facing a highly motivated Arsenal team, though.
“Arsenal, together with City, are the two best teams at this moment in the Premier League. To stay in a good position against Man City, they need all the points, they cannot [pick and choose] where they want to get it,” Klopp said to ESPN UK
Today’s game will be the second of the season between the sides, who drew (0-0) at the Emirates early in the year. They also drew (2-2) the last time they met at Anfield. Another draw looks like a good bet and, at +240, is the best play on the board.
Pick: Draw (+240).Â
