  • The H2H matchup market is loaded with value for this year’s Masters
  • Robert MacIntyre has three top-5 finishes in seven starts in 2026
  • Below, you’ll find the best H2H matchup picks for the Masters

We’re less than 24 hours away from the Masters, and the betting menu is flush with markets. Outrights and finishing position bets will undoubtedly garner the most attention, but I believe there’s serious money to be made in matchups.

Below, I’ve listed my three best H2H matchup picks for the Masters, along with the reasoning behind each selection.

Best H2H Matchup Picks for the Masters

BetOdds (Sportsbook)
Robert MacIntyre Over Hideki Matsuyama+100 (DraftKings)
Russell Henley Over Patrick Cantlay-125 (FanDuel)
Gary Woodland Over Adam Scott+125 (FanDuel)

My favorite matchup bet this week is Robert MacIntyre over Hideki Matsuyama at even money odds. MacIntyre has been trending towards another victory all season, while Matsuyama hasn’t contended at Augusta since winning in 2021.

I’m also betting Russell Henley over Patrick Cantlay, as the ladder’s game has fallen off a cliff. I’ll round out my H2H matchup picks with Gary Woodland over Adam Scott, as this price is too good to ignore given Woodland’s current form.

Masters H2H Pick #1: Robert MacIntyre Over Hideki Matsuyama

Is it uncomfortable to fade a former champion at the Masters? Sure, but Matsuyama hasn’t sniffed the first page of the leaderboard at Augusta since his triumph in 2021, and he’s not exactly peaking heading into the year’s first Major.

Outside his runner-up result in Phoenix back in February, Matsuyama has been a stranger to contention. His 2nd place finish at the Waste Management was his first top-5 result since January of 2025, while his driving and putting continue to let him down. He’ll always be a superb iron player, but he’s either lost or gained less than a stroke on the field with the flat stick in 10 of his last 11 starts, while he’s been a negative with the driver in eight of those tournaments.

MacIntyre meanwhile, has three top-5 results in seven starts this year, and should have won last week in Texas if not for a couple bad swings. He’s won three times worldwide over the last calendar year, and finished fourth at the Players last month, the biggest tournament to date on the PGA Tour this season. He’s been gaining in strokes across all key categories, and we all know how well Augusta sets up for lefties.

Masters H2H Pick #2: Russell Henley Over Patrick Cantlay

This next pick is more of a fade of Cantlay. His game is nowhere close to where it used to be when he was routinely winning, and he’s posted only one top-10 finish since the 2025 Tour Championship.

Cantlay has just one top-20 result at Augusta since 2020, and has lost major distance off the tee. He’s averaging less than 290 yards off the tee, while his ball speed is down nearly 4 miles per hour from two years ago. That’s an indication that he may battling an injury, which could explain his poor form. Nevertheless, he’s a prime candidate to be picked on in this market, and Henley can certainly cash us this ticket.

The former Georgia Bulldog has three-top 15 finishes at the Masters over his last six appearances, and is gaining strokes in the following key metrics: T2G, OTT, APP, BS, ARG and P over his last 8, 16, 24, 36, 50, 75, 100 and 200 rounds.

Masters H2H Matchup Pick #3: Gary Woodland Over Adam Scott

Scott is everyone’s longshot darling this year, in the same vain as Justin Rose in 2025. Yes, he has a ton of experience and a great track record at Augusta, but the 2013 champ simply isn’t playing very well. Scott has one top-10 finish since August of 2024. He continues to gain strokes ball striking, but his short game is killing him. The 45-year-old has dropped strokes on and around the green in eight of his past 10 starts.

Woodland on the other hand, is in peak form. He won last time out in Houston, gaining strokes across the board, and showing off a short game that was reminiscent of his 2019 US Open triumph. He’s posted back-to-back top-14 finishes, gaining over 1.5 strokes ball striking on the field per round. This matchup should be priced at roughly even money, so getting +125 odds on Woodland is a no brainer bet.
