Scottie Scheffler ran away from the field at the PGA Championship on Sunday, claiming his first career Wanamaker Trophy and third overall major title. There’s no rest for the wicked, as he’s scheduled to tee it up at the Charles Schwab Challenge at famed Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Most of the top players in the world are giving this event a pass, following the second major championship of 2025 concluded at Quail Hollow Golf Club. Scheffler, however, will be attempting to win his third straight tournament, having won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson by eight strokes also. Davis Riley, who was co-runner up at the PGA, is the defending champion, having taken down Scheffler at Colonial last year.

Maverick McNealy is just scratching the surface of his vast potential. The eleventh ranked golfer in the world broke through at the end of 2024, taking the RSM Classic for his first PGA Tour triumph. He’s been knocking on the door numerous times in 2025 to add to his trophy collection, with notable finishes 2nd at the Genesis Invitational and a pair of thirds at the Valero Texas Open and RBC Heritage within the last month and a half.

McNealy is +3000 to emerge victorious this week, which is longer odds than the top-five golfers on the board, leading to a bit more value. He’s had a decent record around Colonial Country Club too, with five cuts in six starts, and a pair of top-20s. He was T-33rd at the PGA Championship, and comes in sporting a solid season, with a tremendous chance at the title.

Charles Schwab Challenge 2025 Picks & Value Bets

  1. Aaron Rai +4500: The 2024 Wyndham Championship winner Aaron Rai has been playing some solid golf for a while. On the campaign, he has seven top-25s, with a T-4th his best result. He’s coming in with a top-20 at the PGA, marking the seventh top-30 in the last nine times he’s teed it up. Two years ago he had a nice T-12th at the Charles Schwab, and he’s fourth in ball striking the last twelve rounds at this track.
  2. Davis Riley +5500: Davis Riley is something off a Colonial merchant in his career, as he’s the defending champion (five stroke win), and was also T-4th in 2022. He comes in with a great deal of confidence, having secured his best ever finish in a major championship, a tie for second at the PGA. In the last ten rounds at this venue, Riley is first in strokes gained: approach, and second in total strokes gained, ball striking and tee-to-green.
  3. Lucas Glover +6500: Lucas Glover is coming off a solid, if unspectacular T-37 at the PGA. He’s posted three top-10s on the campaign, including T-3rds at the Players Championship and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The last four years at the Charles Schwab, Glover has three top-25s, including a T-8 in 2021. In the last twelve rounds at this track, Glover is fourth in total strokes gained and fifth in ball striking.
  4. Harry Higgs +45000: This is an absolutely wild number for a player that was in a playoff to win his last tournament in Myrtle Beach. Apart from that tourney, he’s struggled in 2025 and doesn’t have great course history, but this is an amazing number for a huge darkhorse. He’ll be an interesting longshot name to monitor in the top 5/10/20 markets.
