Odds as of Aug. 1st.

Alcantara Has Been Amazing

Raul Alcantara started the season slowly, but since the middle of the June has been incredible. He’s allowed two runs or less in seven of his last nine outings, and has surrendered just one earned run in his last 13 innings.

He’s won his last 10 decisions and has pitched quite well against the Dinos. The last time he faced NC he held the league’s highest scoring offense to three runs over 7.1 innings in a no decision, and back in early June he allowed just a single run over seven strong against them.

It’s always dangerous to bet against the Dinos offense, especially since they’ve scored 29 times over their last three, but Alcantara has been just too good to pass on. The total for this game is sitting at 11.5, which seems way too high especially given the improved performance of NC starter Sung Young Choi.

The 23-year-old has pitched well in two of his last three starts, holding Kiwoom and SK to two runs a piece. The last time he faced the Bears he handled himself quite well, allowing three runs in 6 innings of work.

Pick: Under 11.5 (-115)

KT Wiz Beats Up on SK Again

KT Wiz is the hottest team in the league and they proved that emphatically over the last two contests. They’ve outscored SK 22-1 in the first two games of the series, and will look to continue their dominance over the Wyverns on Sunday. KT Wiz is 5-0 versus SK this season, and the Wyverns Ricardo Pinto has struggled badly on the road.

Pinto is 1-4 away from home, with a 7.67 ERA and a 2.15 WHIP. His last start wasn’t on the road, but it was a complete disaster. He gave up six runs in 4 innings of work against light-hitting Lotte in a 24-7 loss. SK has dropped five straight and has been outscored by 50 runs. No that’s not a typo.

Theoretically they should fare well against Suwon starter Min Soo Kim, who’s struggled this season, but they failed badly in their only matchup versus him this season. Back on June 16th, Kim held the Wyverns to one run and five hits in a KT Wiz victory.

Pick: KT Wiz -1.5 (+115)
