KBO Picks & Odds (July 26): Hanwha is in a Heap of Trouble

Another week of KBO action comes to an end Sunday at 4:00 am EST, as all 10 teams will hopefully take the field.
I say hopefully, because rain has played havoc on the schedule this week postponing 11 games. No team has been affected more by the rain than SK, as the Wyverns have played only two games all week. In those two games however, they’ve looked impressive and will seek a fourth straight win on Sunday when they face Hanwha.

Odds as of July 25th.
Saupold is Struggling
SK will face lefty Warwick Saupold on Sunday, who’s been going through one heck of a rough patch. The 30-year-old has allowed 21 runs in his last four starts and is the only pitcher in the KBO with eight losses on his resume.

The Wyverns’ bats have come alive recently, scoring seven runs in each of their last two contests, and putting up 12 runs in two separate games last week.
SK will give the ball to Seung Won Moon, who’s allowed an average of just 2.5 runs in his last four starts, and held first place NC and third place Kiwoom to a combined five runs over 14 innings.
Pick: SK Wyverns moneyline (-115)
Koo Will Stymie KT Wiz
Anytime Chang Mo Koo takes the mound for the Dinos it should be considered must see TV. The 23-year-old was brilliant again last time out, holding KT Wiz scoreless through 7 innings, while giving up just two hits.

He fanned 10 Suwon batters in that outing, and there’s no reason to think the result will be any different when he faces them again on Sunday. Koo has allowed just 12 earned runs total in 12 starts all season, and owns a perfect 9-0 record and a sparkling 1.35 ERA.
Unfortunately for us, online sportsbooks have priced NC as a -260 moneyline favorite, and -160 on the run line, leaving no value to be found on the Dinos. That’s where the under comes in. The total is currently set at 10, which is very high for a Koo start. KT Wiz will trot out Min Soo Kim, and although he hasn’t pitched great in 2020, he did hold NC to one run over 6.1 innings last month.
The Dinos offense has been relatively average lately, scoring only five times in the opening two games of this series, while averaging just 4.6 runs over their last 10 contests.
Pick: Under 10.0 (-120)
LG and Doosan Stay Under
18-year-old Min Ho Lee is quietly having a sensational rookie campaign. He’s allowed two earned runs or less in all six of his starts, and has silenced the league’s top-three offenses in three consecutive outings.
Last time out versus NC, he gave up just two runs in 6.2 innings of work, and back on June 21st he allowed just two runs over 5 innings against Sunday’s opponent Doosan.
Five of Lee’s six starts have stayed under the total, as have seven of the last eight Bears contests. LG should be able to put up runs against Young Ha Lee, but I’m banking on another strong outing from the rookie to keep this game under.
Pick: Under 10.5 (-120)
