Rain continues to wreak havoc on the KBO season this month as three more games were washed away on Wednesday. Fortunately, the forecast looks promising for Thursday’s contests which is great news for KT Wiz fans.

The Suwon will take on the KIA Tigers at 5:30 am EST, and will send Odrisamer Despaigne to the mound looking to extend their winning streak to three games.

Odds as of July 29th.

Stars Align for Suwon

After a scorching hot start to the season, followed by a disappointing June, Despaigne has revved it back up in July. He’s allowed one run or less in three of his last five outings, and held first place NC to just four hits over 6.2 innings last week.

He’s been excellent in both starts versus KIA this season, holding them scoreless over 8 innings in May, and allowing three runs over 6.2 innings in a win earlier this month. He’s pitched into the 7th inning in all but one of his last eight starts, and he should get plenty of help from his offense on Thursday.

That’s because KT Wiz crushes left-handed pitching, and KIA will trot out Hyun Jong Yang and his 6.00 ERA to face them. Yang has allowed 21 runs in his last four starts and is very susceptible to giving up the long ball. He’s surrendered seven home runs in his last six starts, and only the Dinos have gone deep more often than the Suwon.

Pick: KT Wiz Suwon moneyline (-105)

Rucinski Has Been Ridiculously Good

NC’s Drew Rucinski isn’t the best pitcher in the KBO yet, but he may be come this time next month. The 31-year-old has been virtually unhittable over the last month, allowing just three earned runs in his last four starts.

Drew Rucinski Last Four Starts

Opponent IP HA ER BB K
KT 7.0 5 1 3 8
KIW 7.0 5 0 1 5
LG 6.0 3 1 3 3
KIA 6.0 4 1 2 4

Last time out he held high powered KT Wiz to a single earned run over 7 innings, and prior to that he shutout Kiwoom. His ERA is down to 1.99 and with a victory over Lotte on Thursday he can become the first pitcher to reach 11 wins.

The Giants third worst offense should be easy pickings for Rucinski, but there’s no value in the Dinos’ moneyline or runline.

Enter the under. The total is currently sitting at 10.5 which feels way too high for a Rucinski start. It also doesn’t hurt that the Dinos’ bats are averaging over half a run less than their season average in their last 10 games, and Lotte starter Se Woong Park has pitched well recently. The right-hander has allowed three runs or less in each of his last five starts.

Ride the Form of Chan Gyu Lim

LG has won three straight and will send red-hot Chan Gyu Lim to the mound versus SK. The 27-year-old has tossed back-to-back shutouts (over Doosan and Hanwha) and the last time he faced the Wyverns, he shut them out as well.

LG is 9-2 versus SK this season, and is averaging over two and half more runs per game than the Wyverns over their last 10.

Pick: LG Twins moneyline (-125)
