The series opener was rained out Friday, meaning KT Wiz’s struggling ace Odrisamer Despaigne will get an extra day of rest.

Odds as of June 12th.

Two Starters Headed in Opposite Directions

Despaigne was roughed up for the second time in as many outings on Sunday in a 5-2 defeat. He’s now surrendered 22 hits and 14 runs in his last two starts, failing to make it past the 5th inning each time.

While the extra day’s rest should be a blessing, it could prove costly. He’ll now start on five days rest, as opposed to four, and his numbers are considerably worse when he’s had that much time off. His ERA after five days off is 18.00, compared to 2.08 when pitching after just four days rest. It’s a small sample, but it should be noted that he made a request to the team to start on four days rest moving forward.

Samsung meanwhile, will counter with David Buchanan, who’s been brilliant in three straight starts. He’s allowed just one run in his last 20 innings, and has held his opponents scoreless in three of six outings this season.

Pick: Samsung Lions +1.5 (-135)

KIA and SK Stay Under

Friday’s KIA/SK tilt landed right on the total of 9, marking the 15th time that a Tigers road game has failed to go over in 2020. Six of the last seven Wyverns contests have now finished on or below the total, and Saturday’s game could be low scoring once again.

SK will send Seung Won Moon to the hill, who’s fresh off back-to-back impressive outings. Last time out, he held Samsung to two runs over 6 innings, and in his previous start limited the first place NC Dinos to one run, while striking out six.

KIA will counter with Ki Young Im, who’s been sharp all season. He’s surrendered two runs or less in four of six starts, and is fresh off holding Doosan to a single run.

Doosan and Hanwha Go Over

The Hanwha Eagles tied a KBO record with their 18th straight loss Friday, and nobody will blame you if you want to bet against them again. Unfortunately, it looks like online sportsbooks are finally on to their futility and have priced the Bears runline out of consideration.

The over in Saturday’s contest is a different story. The line is currently set at 10.5, a number that the Eagles staff can easily cough up on its own. Hanwha will give the ball to Seung Yu Han for his first career start, while the Bears offense has reached double-digit runs numerous times already this season.

Doosan will counter with Hui Kwan Yu, who’s allowed four or more runs in two starts this season and averages less than 6 innings per outing. That last number is important, because the Bears bullpen ranks ninth in the KBO in ERA.

Pick: Over 10.5 (-125)
