Michigan Panthers Betting Trends

Through six contests, the Michigan Panthers are 4-and-2, good for first in the XFL Division. They’ve scored 156 points and allowed 111, with a league-best +45 point differential. In three of their four triumphs, they’ve blown out the competition by 14, 18, and last week a season-best 24 points over DC.

They’ve scored the most points per game (26.0) in the UFL, led by fantastic quarterback Bryce Perkins. He’s tossed for 1,111 yards, third best in the league, with eight passing TD’s and four touchdown scampers, to go with just two interceptions. In each of his last three games, he’s tossed for exactly two TD’s.

He’s also getting help from running back Nate McCrary, who has the fourth-most rushing yards with 228. Two wideouts are in the top-six in yardage as well, with Siaosi Mariner third (301) and Malkin Turner sixth (245). There’s a reason Michigan is first in points, since they’ve scored at least 26 points in five of six outings.

The defense has also upheld their end of the bargain, ranking second best in yards allowed per contest, with only their adversaries for this game in Arlington better.

Arlington Renegades Betting Trends

Arlington had a hot start to the season, going 3-and-1, but two straight losses have dropped them to .500, which is third in the XFL Division. Despite that, the +30 point differential is second best in the league, with only the aforementioned Panthers better.

The three losses have been painful, in that they could’ve won each and every one, with a combined total of eleven points in their defeats. The offense put up a season-worst six points in their Week 6 loss to the St. Louis Battlehawks. Quarterback Luis Perez has amassed 1,141 passing yards, third best in the UFL, with a middling three TD strikes and four picks.

In terms of passing efficiency, Perez (70.8) is second only to Michigan’s Perkins (72.3). The two-back system is working very well, with both receiving 60+ carries and each ranking in the top-five in yardage (Kalen Ballage, 306, 2nd, Dae Dae Hunter 227, 5th).

Defense has been Arlington’s calling card, ranking first in yards allowed and second in points surrendered. Willie Taylor III is second in the UFL with five sacks and teammate Chris Odom is putting up four. Ajene Harris (12) and Jayden Price (11) are 1-2 in passes defensed in the UFL, with Harris tops with three interceptions.

Panthers vs Renegades Prediction

Michigan’s offense is far too talented to be kept down for too long, which surely will give Arlington fits. In the last four outings, their lowest offensive output is 26 points. Because of that, I’m inclined to look towards the over point total hitting in a matchup of two talented teams.

The over/under line for this duel is set at 42.5 points. Through six weeks, there have been only six games that have featured a combined total of 43 or more points. Remarkably, on five occasions, it involved the Panthers (3) and Renegades (2). It’s not like Arlington’s offense has been a slouch, so I’m going with the over point total.

  • Panthers vs Renegades Pick: Over 42.5 points (-115)
