  • We’re looking at almost nothing on the MLB slate for Thursday, May 29
  • Still, this is when gamblers like us do our best work
  • See below for my +20340 home run parlay today

I thought I was going senile when I saw the MLB slate for today. I was like, “Where’s the rest of it?” There are legit only five games on tap today, and the only reason we’re getting one of them is because of a rainout yesterday. We didn’t know it yesterday, but God was really looking out for us (thanks, God). Still, this is one of those situations where us gamblers need to gather ourselves, forget about the size of the slate, and just lock in. We’ve done more with less, everyone saw us, so we’re going to be fine. Luckily, we’ve got options since there are pinatas pitching in almost every game tonight. I’ve got the perfect parlay for such an occasion.

Please remember to play all three legs straight for a 1/4 unit as well as a 1/2 unit two-leg parlay.

Thursday HR Parlay Leg #1 – Lawrence Butler to Hit a Home Run

People are going to see this game and immediately think Brent Rooker or Shea Langeliers. We know that going in. And while both are fine options, there’s one that is simply better than those two combined. I’m talking about Lawrence Butler here, people.

A simple deep dive tells us that this guy would probably put one on the moon tonight if he weren’t playing in a dome.

Butler is going to see Jose Berrios tonight, who simply serves up dongs. Everyone has seen him do it, and I don’t think he’s stopping anytime soon. On the season, he’s surrendered 10, six to righties and four to lefties. It doesn’t matter what side of the plate these guys are coming from.

I know the haters are going to say that Berrios hasn’t given up many dongs recently, but that’s just because he was lucky. He’s allowed six barrels in his last 12 innings of work. At some point, balls have to start clearing fences. I think that happens the second Butler steps to the plate tonight. Feels right.

Thursday HR Parlay Leg #2 – Brandon Lowe to Hit a Home Run

The thing I like about tonight is the fact that we’re staggering our action. The Lawrence Butler Game starts at 7:07 pm ET, then about an hour later, we’ve got the Brandon Lowe Show. Doing it this way really lets us soak in the idea of becoming rich, without getting overwhelmed. Sometimes it’s nice to be “one at a time people.”

It’s also nice to know that Brandon Lowe should demolish the first four-seam fastball he sees from Ryan Gusto.

Four-seam Fastball25%55%
Cutter40$50%

Obviously we want a guy who is creaming the ball lately when we’re betting these dinger parlays. That box is checked with Lowe. He’s a man on a mission right now. But the other side of the coin is the opposing pitcher. We need a turkey tosser, and we have that in Ryan Gusto. The man has given up six home runs this season, every one of them to lefties. I feel like God got together with FanDuel and said, “Here’s free money, people.” Feels right.

Thursday HR Parlay Leg #3 – James Wood to Hit a Home Run

Now that we’re two deep, we need to get super serious about how we’re going to close this thing out. We can’t be flirting around with a bunch of “maybe” guys. We need a real deal, Holyfield type, and that guy is James Wood. There’s literally no one I trust more tonight than that guy.

To make it even better, what he does to Emerson Hancock’s pitch mix feels illegal.

PitchWood Hard-Hit Rate vs RHP (L30 Days)Hancock Hard-Hit Rate vs LHB (2025)
Changeup56%40%
Four-seam Fastball71%38%

The haters are going to say that Emerson Hancock has only given up one barrel in the last two weeks. That’s true, but as usual, the haters are being short-sighted. For starters, barrels don’t totally matter with Hancock. Even with the lack of barrels, he’s allowed five home runs in his last 15 innings of work. What’s even better is, four of those blasts were to left-handed batters. Now he has to face James Wood? This is almost too easy. Feels right.
