My favorite prediction for this matchup is over 7.5 runs, in large part due to the severe disparity on the mound. Veteran Chris Bassitt is enduring a nightmare start to 2026, sporting a 14.21 ERA and a towering 2.84 WHIP. Opposing hitters are teeing off with a .414 batting average against him.

While Giants ace Logan Webb has also scuffled out of the gate with a 5.00 ERA across multiple innings, he provides a far higher baseline of competence. His underlying metrics, including a stellar 2.65 FIP, suggest he has been a victim of incredibly poor batted-ball luck.

Bassitt’s command has completely unraveled, evidenced by his 8.53 walks per nine innings paired with an anemic 4.26 strikeouts per nine. Meanwhile, the Giants have been absolute road warriors at the plate. They are generating 9.50 hits per game away from home, boasting a robust .779 OPS.

Conversely, the Orioles are putting up 4.14 runs per game at Camden Yards, and have more than enough pop to help push this game over the total, despite facing an ace on the other side.
