They’re saying Dinger Tuesday is dead. They’re saying that the weather today will certainly ruin it. I don’t know. I’m not sure a force like Dinger Tuesday can be stopped, and even if it could, it wouldn’t be stopped by weather. If we’re being honest, I’m not even sure weather exists. I’ve never seen it. But what I have seen is 30+ guys all going yard on the same Dinger Tuesday. That’s what we need to believe in. Home Run Pick #1 – TJ Rumfield to Hit a Home Run

Obviously, we need a “who the hell is that guy” in this thing. It’s Dinger Tuesday, and “who the hell is that guy” types always go yard on Dinger Tuesday. I think they all get together beforehand and figure out who’s going yard, but that’s just speculation. Nothing can be proven. Yet.

For now, we’ll just have to figure it out based on the pitcher matchup, which is just fine with us. TJ is going to see Mike “Tape Measure” Burrows tonight.

We were on TJ last week, and we’re on him again this week. If he goes deep, we profit no matter what happens with the other guys. The thing is, TJ is in Colorado, where home runs instinctively flock like the salmon of the Capistrano. On top of that, he’s going to face Mike “Tape Measure” Burrows, which is another bonus. Burrows throws his four-seamer 40% of the time to lefites, and TJ loves four-seamers. He barrels them at a 25% clip. Feels easy.

Tuesday HR Pick #2 – Yordan Alvarez to Hit a Home Run

We have our “who the hell is that guy?”, now we just need a “hot guy”. To me, a “hot guy” is a guy who is smoking baseballs at the moment. With that being said, there is no one on this planet hotter than Yordan Alvarez. We’re talking video game numbers here, people.

What is even crazier is the fact that he gets to see Kyle Freeland tonight. The hot just get hotter.

Kyle Freeland likes to throw his sweeper to lefties. In his first start of the season, he threw it 43% of the time. Maybe that was team-specific, but I don’t think so. The good news is, if it were, Yordan hits everything Freeland throws better than he hits the sweeper. The thing is, he hits the sweeper a ton. In fact, he hit the last one he saw from a lefty 106 mph, just missing a home run. My guess is, if he sees another one tonight, he won’t miss it. Feels right.

Tuesday HR Pick #3 – Zach Neto to Hit a Home Run

Finally, we need an “under the radar” guy to close this thing out. A guy who we’ve all heard of, yet still flies under the radar. The issue with this one is the fact that he won’t be “under the radar” for much longer. Zach Neto is a bona fide stud, and everyone in the world will know it soon.

Matchups with guys like Reynaldo Lopez will only speed up the process.

The thing with Reynaldo Lopez is that he likes to throw the four-seamer, and it is just not that good. The guy throws that pitch 60% of the time to righties, and they absolutely slaughter it. We’re talking a .429 ISO to that pitch. The hardest part about this whole thing was finding which Angel righty to use. They all seem to smash, but none quite as good as Neto. My guess is he sends the first one he sees home with a fan. Feels right.
