Somehow, someway, we’ve made it all the way back around to Dinger Tuesday. I don’t know how we did it. There was a long weekend in there, fireworks, beers, hot dogs, etc. We’re lucky to be alive but we are, and that’s the important part. The thing about tonight is, it’s the last Dinger Tuesday before the All-Star break. That means legacy time. When we start throwing out Dinger Tuesday bets going forward, it’ll be on the back nine of the season. Obviously we’re still doing that, but it’ll feel different. The only thing we can do at this point is slap the books around one last time before the break. Lucky for us, I have the perfect two guys to do it with. Feels right.

Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #1 – Jazz Chisholm to Hit a Home Run

We have to start this thing off with a guaranteed winner tonight. It’s the only way we can feel good about this parlay. Lucky for us, the New York Yankees are back home, where left-handed hitters are gifted home run opportunities every single at-bat. All we have to do is find the right lefty and we’re gold. I’m thinking Jazz Chisholm.

Just look at what he has done to sliders from right-handers this season.

The reason sliders are important is because Jazz and the Yankees will see Logan Gilbert tonight, and he loves throwing the slider to lefties. We’re talking 40% of the time. What’s good for us is the fact that Gilbert’s slider has been ragdolled by left-handed batters this season. He’s given up five home runs to guys on that side of the plate so far this year and four of them have been courtesy of the slider. My guess is Jazz puts one of those offerings on Mars tonight. Feels right.

Tuesday HR Parlay Leg #2 – Sean Murphy to Hit a Home Run

Now that we have one home run in our back pockets, we can relax, take a deep breath, and wait until the late games start. There’s nothing like clearing half of a two-leg parlay with one swing in the early slate, knowing you have a massive dong coming right behind it in the late games. Lucky for us, we have one with Sean Murphy tonight.

I mean, just take a peek at what he does to the pitch mix he’ll see tonight. Feels illegal.

Obviously pitcher matters in these things, and we’ve got a good one in Jeffrey Springs. He’s a known dinger-giver-upper, and there’s really nothing anyone can do about it. We’re talking 16 home runs in just 97 innings of work so far this season. Of those 16, 14 have been to right-handed batters. Both his four-seamer and changeup get destroyed, accounting for 11 of those 14 dongs. Our boy Murphy big-boys both of those pitches from lefties so we’re good here. Feels right.
