It’s the best day of the week to bet on home runs. Not only are all 30 teams in action, but there is also a doubleheader, so there are 16 games to choose from. It is also Dinger Tuesday at FanDuel, so all users (new and existing) can opt in and claim a 50% profit boost to use on any player to hit a home run tonight.
Keep reading for my home run picks and predictions for August 19 and to see who I am using my Dinger Tuesday profit boost on tonight.
Home Run Picks Today
I have five MLB home run picks today for Dinger Tuesday.
Home Run Pick #1: Brandon Nimmo (+630 at FanDuel with 50% Profit Boost)
My favorite home run pick today is Brandon Nimmo. Nimmo is originally +420 to hit a home run at FanDuel, but with my 50% profit boost for Dinger Tuesday, he is now +630. That is tremendous value for a player like Nimmo in this matchup.

He is facing Jake Irvin, who has a 1.7 home run/9 this season and has given up five homers in his last four starts. Left-handed batters have been dominant against Irvin.
Lefties are slugging .526 against him and have hit 17 of the 27 home runs he has allowed. To make it even better, they are playing at Nationals Park, which is eighth in ballpark factor for left-handed hitters.
Nimmo is hot heading into Tuesday’s game as he is riding a six-game hit streak and has multiple hits in two of them. He also has two doubles and a home run during that span.
14 of his 20 homers have come off righties, and he has the underlying power numbers. He has an exit velocity of 91.6 and a hard hit rate of 48.8%.
If all of that is not enough, he is also batting .294 in 17 at-bats with two home runs in his career against Irvin. Nimmo is a must-play today.
Home Run Pick #2: Trent Grisham (+440 at FanDuel)
My next home run pick today is Trent Grisham against Shane Baz and the Rays.
Baz has been terrible at home this season at George Steinbrenner Field. He has given up at least one home run in every home start this year, except for his first start of the season. He has also allowed five homers in his last three home starts.
Grisham is slugging .493 against right-handed pitching and has hit 17 of his 21 home runs off of righties. He is also slugging .507 on the road, and in three games at Steinbrenner Field this season, he hit two home runs.
He is 1-5 with a home run in his career against Baz. Grisham has a 90.8 exit velocity and a 45.7% hard hit rate, so I love Grisham in this spot.

Home Run Pick #3: Freddie Freeman (+340 at FanDuel)
I am also betting on Freddie Freeman to hit a home run against Austin Gomber and the Rays.
Gomber has given up two home runs in each of his last three starts and has allowed 11 in his last eight starts. He has a 7.11 ERA at home and has given up half of his homers at Coors Field.
Lefties are slugging an absurd .681 against him this season, making Freeman a good bet.
Freeman is fresh off a two-double game and is slugging .593 in August. He has an exit velocity of 91.4 and a 46.4% hard hit rate.
He has also seen success against Gomber in his career.
Freddie Freeman vs Austin Gomber
In 16 at-bats vs Gomber, Freeman is slugging .813 and has hit two home runs. He has a great chance to hit another tonight at Coors Field.
Home Run Pick #4: Corbin Carroll (+400 at FanDuel)
My next home run pick is Corbin Carroll against the Guardians.
Tanner Bibee takes the mound for Cleveland, and he has given up five home runs in his last five starts. He has also been much worse on the road.
17 of the 22 home runs he has allowed have been away from home, and he spots a 5.59 road ERA
Lefties have hit 12 home runs against Bibee this season, and Carroll is slugging .581 against righties. He is also slugging .573 at home.
21 of his 27 homers have come off right-handed pitchers, and he is hot right now.
Carroll is riding a six-game hit streak and is slugging .591 this month. He has a 9.22 exit velocity and a 50.2% hard hit rate. +400 odds is a great value for a player as talented as Carroll.
Home Run Pick #5: Ke’Bryan Hayes (+900 at FanDuel)
My last home run pick of the day is a longshot in Ke’Bryan Hayes.
He is +900, which makes sense with him only having four home runs this season, but I do like for him to hit one over the fence tonight.
Hayes is heating up. He’s riding a three-game hit streak and has a double and a home run during that stretch. He is also slugging .667 over the last seven days.
He is facing Kyle Hendricks, who has given up a home run in each of his last two starts. Hendricks has struggled with right-handed batters.
Right-handed hitters are slugging .543 against him this season and are responsible for 14 of the 20 home runs he has given up.
Hayes also has a great track record against Hendricks. He is 9-21 (.429) with two home runs against him in his career.
He also has a 45.5% hard hit rate, so Hayes is worth the +900 flyer to hit a home run.
