Home Run Picks Today

There are four MLB players that I am picking to hit a home run on July 22.

Home Run Pick #1: Ryan McMahon (+600)

My first home run pick of the day is Ryan McMahon. McMahon is +400 to hit a home run, but after using the FanDuel 50% profit boost, he is now +600. That is incredible odds for a player of his caliber in this matchup.

McMahon has 15 home runs on the year and has been red-hot since the All-Star Break ended. In the second half of the MLB season, he is 5-14 with two doubles and two home runs already. He now gets to face Erik Fedde on the Cardinals, who has been struggling.

Fedde allowed two home runs in his last start and has given up six in his last four starts. Eight of his 12 home runs allowed have been to left-handed batters, so McMahon has a great chance of staying hot tonight at home in Colorado.

13 of McMahon’s 15 home runs have come off right-handed pitchers, and ten of them have come at home. Colorado is a great ballpark for home runs, and the MLB odds list the total in this game at 12, so runs should be coming.

McMahon is in the 97th percentile in exit velocity with 93.8 and has an excellent 49.8% hard-hit rate. I love McMahon to go yard tonight at home against Fedde.

Home Run Pick #2: Mickey Moniak (+400)

I am staying in the same game for my next home run pick. The pitching matchup is there, they are in the best ballpark for home runs, and the O/U is the highest on the board today by far. I believe both McMahon and Mickey Moniak hit a home run tonight, but even if just one does, we will still be profitable.

Moniak is another left-handed batter who is hitting the ball great since the All-Star Break. He has multiple hits in three of the four games and is 8-17 with two doubles and a home run.

Fedde struggles more with lefties, so I like Moniak and his 47% hard-hit rate to hit another home run tonight. 13 of his 14 home runs in 2025 have come against right-handed pitchers, and nine of them have come at home.

Bet on Moniak to hit a home run at +400 odds.

Home Run Pick #3: Addison Barger (+480)

Addison Barger is my next home run pick today, and I love this matchup against Yankees rookie pitcher Cam Schlittler.

In his first and only start, Schlittler allowed two home runs in 5.1 innings pitched. Both of the home runs were to lefties.

Barger has 14 home runs on the year and has hit three in his last ten games. He has been solid since the All-Star Break, going 6-13 with a double and a home run. Barger has a 93.1 exit velocity and ranks in the 95th percentile in hard-hit rate at 53.9%.

He has hit 13 of his 14 home runs off of righties, and nine of them at home. Take Barger to stay hot and hit another home run tonight against the Yankees.

Home Run Pick #4: Yainer Diaz (+600)

My last home run pick tonight is Yainer Diaz at +600 odds against Eduardo Rodriguez and the Diamondbacks.

Rodriguez has given up five home runs in his last two starts, and he has been much worse at home. He has a 6.32 home ERA and has given up half of his home runs at Chase Field, which is second in ballpark factor for righties. It only trails Colorado. Right-handed batters have hit 12 of the 16 home runs that Rodriguez has allowed in 2025.

Diaz has hit five of his 13 home runs off of lefties, but he is slugging .552 vs left-handed pitchers, so I still feel good about this matchup.

He only has one hit in three games since the All-Star Break, but he still has three home runs in his last ten games. He had the night off yesterday, so he should feel refreshed and ready to go tonight in a great matchup for home runs.

Diaz has a 90.1 exit velocity and a 43.8% hard-hit rate. I like those numbers against a pitcher like Rodriguez.
