How To Watch Canada vs Puerto Rico (WBC)
Canada and Puerto Rico’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Tubi will carry the broadcast in America, while Sportsnet will provide coverage across Canada.
Puerto Rico is one of the three teams to host a World Baseball Classic, and everyone will be hyped up in that stadium, meaning Canada will have to deal with a hostile crowd.
Canada vs Puerto Rico Predictions and Picks
- Canada +1.5 (+105 at DraftKings)
Canada is in a must-win situation to keep their hopes of reaching the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals alive. They’re led by MLBers Josh Naylor and Tyler O’Neill. Naylor has three hits in two games for the Canadians and is a steady hand at first base. Team Puerto Rico could be resting some starters since they don’t have anything to play for at this point in the round robin stage.
Canada is getting +1.5 at plus money, which is great value for this spot. The Canadians haven’t been blown out in any of their games, and their one loss was by one run. Jordan Balazovic is getting the start for Canada. He plays for the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. He was a fifth-round pick of the Tigers in 2016 and could use a big start to get the attention of the MLB teams. Speedster Denzel Clarke could cause issues for Puerto Rico and has tallied an RBI in two straight games
- Over 8.0 Runs (-115 at DraftKings)
Run differential is a tie breaker in the World Baseball Classic, so teams aren’t afraid to crush teams if they can. Canada will be incredibly motivated to score a ton of runs, and Puerto Rico won’t want to disappoint their home crowd. The home squad has scored at least four runs in their three games. Team Puerto Rico includes MLB players such as Heliot Ramos and former All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado.
Both of these teams have sluggers like Josh Naylor, who hit 20 dingers last season, while Heliot Ramos crushed 21 dingers for the Giants in their 2024-2025 season. José De León will get the start for Puerto Rico in their last game of the round robin. His last MLB action was with the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox and had a 0-9 record with a 6.93 ERA. If Canada can jump on him early, this could be a high-scoring affair.
