Boston vs Minnesota Probable Pitchers
With Nathan Eovaldi currently sidelined, Bello gets another chance in the rotation in Monday’s MLB lineups. The youngster is 0-3 so far, posting a dismal 7.36 ERA in 22 innings. He’s struck out one hitter per frame, but Bello has also walked 11 hitters.
I’m excited to see if Brayan Bello continues trending upward tmrw. The stuff is there. It’s electric. 2 seam at 97 with super sink, 4 seam w/ride at the top of the zone, and a changeup from hell. He’s 23, there will be a learning curve, but his stuff plays when he commands it.

To be fair, it was his first couple of outings that really made the rookie’s ERA skyrocket. He’s cooled down since, allowing just two earned runs last time out on August 24th against the Blue Jays in five innings. Bello has never faced the Twins.
Bello vs Bundy
0-3 | Record | 7-6 |
7.36 | ERA | 4.56 |
22 | Innings Pitched | 108.2 |
22 | Strikeouts | 77 |
11 | BB | 23 |
Bundy is in the midst of a rather average campaign for the Twins. The veteran right-hander owns a 7-6 record and 4.56 ERA in 22 starts on the season in 108.2 total innings. He’s struck out just 77 but Bundy has shown solid command with only 23 walks.
Dylan Bundy has the third highest percentage of strikes thrown this season (minimum 100 IP).

Dylan Bundy – 69.39

August is his best month yet, posting a 2.33 ERA in four appearances. In Bundy’s most recent outing, the 29-year-old tossed five solid innings of two-run baseball against the high-flying Astros. Although he took the loss, it was a good showing. Bundy also gave up a lone run to the Red Sox earlier in the year.
Red Sox in a Rut
Not much is going right for Boston in 2022 and their recent play is a testament to that. Alex Cora’s squad is 3-7 in their last 10 games, getting swept by the Blue Jays and then taking two out of three from the Rays, which is actually huge.

But, the series finale on Sunday ended in disappointment, losing 12-4 to Tampa Bay. Nick Pivetta allowed five earned as he took the loss and the bullpen struggled to limit the damage after he exited. The Red Sox are now seven games out in the Wild Card.
Twins Coming in With Confidence
Minnesota might be just above .500 but they’re in the heart of both the Wild Card and the divisional crown. The Twins trail the Guardians by two games in the AL Central and also sit two back in the WC. Their recent play is a good sign for this series, winning three straight after just sweeping the Giants.

Minny outscored San Fran 20-5 in the three-game set and won 8-3 on Sunday. Jake Cave led the offense with four RBI including a two-run homer. Aaron Sanchez held it down for 3.2 innings before the bullpen held it down.

Red Sox vs Twins Pick
Bello is starting to look a lot more comfortable lately. But, Bundy is lights out in August and the Twins are rolling, especially offensively. I like Minnesota to take the opener on Monday night.
