Game 7 of the World Series is on deck tonight, as the Blue Jays host the Dodgers. Toronto is one win away from their first title in 32 years, while LA can claim its second straight championship with one more road victory.

The Dodgers escaped Game 6 by the skin of their teeth last night, but I’m banking on the Blue Jays bouncing back tonight in my World Series Game 7 same-game parlay.

Below, you’ll find my three SGP Dodgers-Jays picks for Game 7, and the analysis behind each selection.

World Series Game 7 Same-Game Parlay

My favorite bet tonight is simply the Toronto moneyline. The Blue Jays are still underdogs in the World Series odds, despite being the significantly better team throughout the first six games.

I’m also betting on 2+ total bases for Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who’s looking to cement his status as series MVP. Finally, I’m fading Shohei Ohtani strikeouts, as he doesn’t project to last deep into this ball game.

SGP Dodgers-Jays Pick #1: Blue Jays Moneyline

Toronto has outscored LA by 9 runs this series, and boasts much stronger offensive numbers. The Blue Jays are slashing .258/.336/.386 through six contests, miles better than the Dodgers .191/.287/.336 slash line.

The biggest disappointment so far has been the heart of the LA order, as Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Max Muncy are all hitting .217 or worse.

Ohtani meanwhile, was a force in Game 3, but has underwhelmed in the other five contests. If you remove his historic performance on Monday, Ohtani is 3-for-18 with six strikeouts. Speaking of K’s, LA is whiffing at a 26.6% rate in the World Series. Not exactly championship stuff.

As for the pitching matchup, Ohtani will start but he’s unlikely to last long as we’ll discuss later. Dave Roberts is running out of arms he can trust, and his best reliever Roki Sasaki was all over the map last night.

Toronto will turn to Max Scherzer tonight, who’s pitched in more big games than anyone else on either team. Yes, Scherzer has struggled with the long ball this postseason, but his velocity is back and I’m confident he can give Toronto 4+ good innings.

From there, I simply trust the Blue Jays’ bullpen more. Toronto relievers have limited the Dodgers’ lineup to a .186 average, while stranding 90% of baserunners.

SGP Dodgers-Jays Pick #2: Vladimir Guerrero 2+ Bases

Guerrero is batting .412 this postseason, with 28 hits, including 12 extra-base hits in 17 games. He’s cleared 2+ total bases in four straight and in five of six games in the World Series, and was 2-4 against Ohtani in Game 4, with a home run.

If you extrapolated his playoff stats over an entire regular season, he’d boast a slugging percentage that’s 300 points higher than home run leader Cal Raliegh, and an OPS nearly 200 points higher than Aaron Judge.

SGP Dodgers-Jays Pick #3: Shohei Ohtani Under 4.5 K’s

Back to Ohtani, who we simply can’t project for a heavy workload given he’s pitching on three days rest. Don’t forget, Ohtani’s arm wasn’t ready to start pitching this season until June, and he just threw 93 pitches in Tuesday’s loss.

Ohtani did notch 6 strikeouts in Game 4, but that was over the course of 6 innings. Toronto struck out at the league’s second-lowest rate during the regular season (19.9%), and is whiffing even less frequently (19.4%) during the World Series. They’ve struck out just 14% of the time versus LA relievers, which bodes well for this leg of the SGP, as they should see a steady dose of the Dodgers bullpen tonight.
