  • The Yankees face the Giants this afternoon, in a game I’m projecting to fly over the 8.5 run total
  • San Fran starter Robbie Ray has a career 1.35 HR per 9 innings rate, and yielded a 47% fly ball rate in 2025

The Yankees and Giants are back in action this afternoon, following an off day on Thursday. New York came roaring out of the gates in their season debut win over San Fran, but I’m expecting the Giants to be able to punch back in this matchup. The game total currently sits at 8.5 in the MLB odds, and that’s a number we can confidently bet the over on for a variety of reasons.

Keep reading for my favorite Yankees vs Giants best bets below, plus find out which player props to target for the March 27th matchup.

Yankees vs Giants Best Bets

PickOdds (Sportsbook)
Over 8.5 Runs+104 (Kalshi)
Cam Schlittler Under 4.5 Strikeouts+100 (bet365)
Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Total Bases-115 (bet365)

The best place to bet over 8.5 runs in this contest at the time of writing is at Kalshi, who are trading the line at the equivalent of +104 odds in traditional sports betting terms. I’m also targeting a pair of Yankees vs Giants player props, betting under 4.5 strikeouts for New York starter Cam Schlittler, and over 1.5 total bases for MLB MVP odds favorite Aaron Judge.

Per the latest weather reports, the temperature and humidity in San Francisco this afternoon is creating the second best hitting atmosphere for any ball park on today’s slate. That means the ball will be flying out of Oracle Park, with the Yankees top rated offense doing most of the damage. New York clubbed 30 more home runs than any other team in baseball in 2025, posting MLB’s best slugging percentage and OPS along the way.

That spells trouble for Giants starter Robbie Ray, who is very prone to giving up the long ball. Ray surrenders dingers at a career 1.35 clip per 9 innings, and yielded a fly ball to 47% of opposing hitters last season.

Yankees starter Cam Schlittler meanwhile, has electric stuff but is prone to major control issues. He owns a career 10.2% walk rate, and has seen 12% off the fly balls he’s yielded leave the yard. Enemy hitters made hard contact on 40.2% of their at-bats versus him last year, and there’s simply too much talent on this Giants roster to be stifled in back to back outings.

Yankees vs Giants Best Bet #2: Cam Schlittler Strikeouts

Moving over to the MLB player props, where I’m down on Schlittler’s strikeout prospects. Yes, he does boast an impressive career K/9 mark, but this San Fran roster doesn’t go down swinging often. They struck out just six times in their season debut, and whiffed at a much lower clip last season versus righties than lefties.

Given this is Schlittler’s first start of the season, New York isn’t going to want to stretch him out too long. That’s especially true given the World Series odds top contender is operating a four-man rotation to start the season, and a shorter outing drastically reduces his strikeout ceiling.

Yankees vs Giants Best Bet #3: Aaron Judge Total Bases

  • Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115 at bet365)

Last but not least, getting Judge to record over 1.5 total bases feels like an absolute gift. Throw out his 0-for-5 Opening Day performance, and simply rely on the game’s best hitter finding his swing.

It certainly doesn’t hurt that he’ll face Ray at least a few times, a pitcher he has absolutely owned in the past. Judge is 3-for-8 all-time versus Ray, with 3 home runs and 5 RBI. Let’s not forget, Judge led all of MLB last season in WAR, batting average, slugging %, OPS and wRC+, and he’s the favorite to do so again in 2026.
