Vadim Nemkov vs Corey Anderson Prediction

The final of the Bellator light heavyweight grand prix is finally here.

Unfortunately, the first match-up between these two was stopped early after a clash of heads in the fifth round. Now, Vadim Nemkov gets a second chance to retain his title, after almost certainly being behind on the scorecards in the first fight.

The 30-year-old Russian hasn’t lost in nearly six years, with seven finishes in that time. Nemkov will attempt to close the distance and bring this fight to the ground. He’ll want to avoid a repeat of the first match-up and keep his unbeaten streak alive.

On the flip side, Corey Anderson will feel like he was robbed of the title in the first match-up.

As you’ll recall, the 33-year-old American went 9-5 while fighting in the UFC for seven years. Eventually, he made his way over to Bellator where he has won all three of his fights.

Corey Anderson
30 Age 33
6’0 Height 6’3
76″ Reach 77.5″
13 Career Finishes 8

Much like in the first fight, Anderson will use his length and striking pedigree to control the tempo of this light heavyweight match-up. The American is a heavy-hitter and is more than capable of ending this fight at any moment. Sports books have adjusted since the first scrap, with Anderson now as the slight favorite. Take Corey Anderson to become the new Bellator light heavyweight champion.

Bellator 288 Pick: Corey Anderson to win (-230)

Patricky Freire vs Usman Nurmagomedov Prediction

One of the greatest Bellator fighters of all-time, Patricky Freire will look to cement his legacy with a win on Friday. “Pitbull” has long been one of the most exciting fighters in all of MMA. Patricky has delighted audiences around the world for nearly two decades with his penchant for flair and audacious striking techniques. However, he now faces perhaps the most well-rounded opponent of his entire career in Usman Nurmagomedov.

If that name sounds familiar, you’ve most likely heard of Usman’s cousin, UFC great Khabib. Much like his cousin, Usman is incredibly patient and poised inside the cage. He generally follows much of the same gameplan that made Khabib impossible to defeat. Usman’s incredible sambo skills allow him to simply wait for his opponent to make a mistake, and strike.

“Pitbull” has had a phenomenal run at the top of the Bellator lightweight division. That likely ends on Friday night. This bout will be over quickly, with the belt leaving around Nurmagomedov’s waist.

Bellator 288 Pick: Usman Nurmagomedov to win (-500)
