UFC 237 went down last night from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with several underdogs cashing for UFC bettors. Massive underdogs like Viviane Araujo who was +260 scored the knockout win in the first fight of the night. With that, any bettors who put money on the natural strawweight to beat the bantamweight scored some money.

Here are the biggest underdogs who won at UFC 237.

1. Viviane Araujo KO Win Over Talita Bernardo

Fighter Odds
Viviane Araujo +260
Talita Bernardo -340

Viviane Araujo took this fight on just days notice and was moving up two weight classes to do so. She was five pounds under the bantamweight max at 131, but she proved size doesn’t matter in this one.

Araujo was dominant from the get-go and was picking apart Bernandro on her feet which resulted in a clean knockout in the third round. She was +260 which was the fourth-biggest underdog on the card, but the biggest to cash.

2. Alexander Volkanovski Beats Jose Aldo

Fighter Odds
Alexander Volkanovski +110
Jose Aldo -140

Alexander Volkanovski was one of my picks to win this fight as I think he could very well be a champion in the not-so-distant future. But, in a card that saw the majority of the favorites win, Volkanovski was only the second plus-money fighter to win.

He fought a perfect fight and picked apart Aldo on the feet for all three rounds to become the top contender at featherweight and show is the real deal. It was a dominant performance for Volkanovski and an underdog who made bettors some money.

3. Laureano Staropoli Wins vs Thiago Alves

Fighter Odds
Laureano Staropoli EVEN
Thiago Alves -115

Although Staropoli wasn’t an underdog per se, he still was even-money which to bettors is worth putting in a parlay. In the second fight on the pay-per-view card, I thought the Argentian was going to grind out a decision win over Alves which is exactly what happened. He proved he is someone to watch out for at welterweight.

It was a majority of favorites who won in Brazil but overall it was a great night of fights that saw a new strawweight champion be crowned.
