UFC 283: Teixeira vs Hill takes place this Saturday, January 21st, at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The main event will be a battle for the vacant light-heavyweight belt between former champion Glover Teixeira and rising challenger Jamahal Hill. The co-main event features a flyweight title fight that MMA fans have seen before, as champion Deiveson Figueiredo and challenger Brandon Moreno do battle for a fourth time. Also on the card are well-known welterweights Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny who are set to scrap in what should be an explosive welterweight tilt.
All of the UFC 283 action gets underway on ESPN+ at 8pm ET.

Promising up-and-comer Jailton Almeida is the largest favorite for UFC 283 at -1100. While brothers and Dana White’s Contenders Series veterans Gabriel Bonfim and Ismael Bonfim both fight at UFC 283 in their native Brazil. Undefeated thus far in his career, Gabriel is a -188 favorite over Mounir Lazzez. While Ismael Bonfim is a slight underdog at +106 odds versus Terrance McKinney.
Teixeira vs Hill Odds & Prediction
In a bizarre turn of events, former light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and American Jamahal Hill will do battle for the light-heavyweight strap at UFC 283. While that seemed far fetched only a few weeks ago, the winner of this bout will walk away with UFC gold.
With 20 of his 33 career wins coming via knockout or submission, the elder statesmen will surely be looking to finish the fight. In this case, against a much younger opponent, expect Teixeira to come out of the gate swinging. His best strategy in the UFC 283 main event is to finish his opponent before the wear and tear of being a 43-year old professional fighter starts to show.

A veteran of Dana White’s Contenders Series, Jamahal Hill will look to continue his meteoric rise in the promotion at UFC 283. Though he’s fought just 12 times in his career, the Michigan native boasts 7 knockout victories. Not to mention, “Sweet Dreams” is one a three-fight has finished three straight fights, with notable wins over Jimmy Crute, Johnny Walker, and Thiago Santos.

The main event of the UFC 283 card is an intriguing match up to bet on. While Teixeira has put together an unbelievable UFC career, it’s tough to see him having enough left in the tank to survive Hill’s lethal striking game.
Ultimately, Teixeira is a grizzled warrior, but look for Hill’s dynamic striking and power to end the UFC 283 main event in the middle rounds.

You may have seen this one before. Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo takes on Brandon Moreno in the co-main event. Each man will look to bring this rivalry to a decisive conclusion at UFC 283.

Incredibly, these men have met in the octagon three times since December 2020. Somehow, their first fight was one of the best scraps of all-time, ultimately ending as an explosive draw. Next, the two men battled in June 2021, where Moreno decisively defeated his opponent by third round submission. Then, just last January, Figueiredo reclaimed his belt with a unanimous-decision victory.
This UFC 283 co-main event is sure to be a barn burner. That being said, Figueiredo has been on the sidelines for a year, while Moreno put on a dominant performance in a win over Kai Kara-Francis last summer. In what should be a coin toss, we’re sticking with the fighter with the cardio and grit to pull out a late victory.
