Muhammad vs Della Malladena Early Prediction

UFC 315’s main event is the type of fight that will test just how far challenger Jack Della Malladena’s meteoric rise can take him. A human highlight reel, Della Malladena has finished five of his seven UFC bouts, and is coming off of a dominant victory over Gilbert Burns at UFC 299.

The Australian’s crisp boxing and aggressive style has led to 17 straight victories. However, Muhammad’s cardio and grappling provide a much different challenge.

Belal Muhammad’s relentless, grinding style turns the opposition to dust inside the cage. He doesn’t possess fight-ending power, but Muhammad’s suffocating wrestling and elite gas tank make him a nightmare in the Octagon.

The welterweight champ’s ability to stimy elite strikers is well known, and his game plan will likely remain the same at UFC 315. “Remember the Name” averages nearly five takedowns per fight, and he’ll use his fantastic grappling skills to stall Della Malladena throughout the fight.

The question is, can Della Malladena create enough space to land early shots from range, and keep Muhammad from imposing his will? The Australian will need to establish his jab, land some punishing body shots, and avoid the cage at all costs. Although it’s tough to envision the 28-year-old stuffing every takedown and avoiding the clinch game entirely over a five-round fight.

Look for Della Malladena to start strong and maybe even take an early round or two. But, over time, Muhammad’s pressure and pace will start to smother the Aussie, especially in the championship rounds. Bet on the champion to win by decision.

Muhammad vs Della Malladena early prediction: Belal Muhammad by decision (+115)

Shevchenko vs Fiorot Early Prediction

In the co-main event, living legend Valentina Shevchenko goes head-to-head with rising French striker Manot Fiorot. However, this feels like a classic changing of the guard fight.

Shevchenko’s been through three wars with Alexa Grasso in her most recent bouts, and looks a tad more hittable at the age of 37. She is perhaps a bit less dynamic and not quite as invincible as she was in her prime. Having said that, Shevchenko remains a cerebral, elite striking with fantastic timing. However, against a physical specimen like Fiorot, the margins are razor thin.

On the flip side, the aptly nicknamed “Beast” has won 14 straight bouts, including wins over Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield. Fiorot is a perfect 7-0 in her UFC career, with two finishes on her resume. The Frenchwoman combines precise striking with elite takedown defense.

Ultimately, Fiorot will likely be able to force Shevchenko into a kickboxing match, and use her surgical combinations to win this bout. Unless Shevchenko can break up her rhythm, this looks like Fiorot’s fight to win.

Shevchenko vs Fiorot Early Prediction: Manon Fiorot by decision (+125)
