UFC Vegas 112 goes down tonight, headlined by the Brandon Royval vs Manel Kape flyweight bout. Both fighters have never been finished inside the UFC octagon, but I’m expecting that to change in this fight.
The UFC Vegas 112 prelims are set to get underway from UFC Apex at 4:15 pm PT, 7:15 pm ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+, with the Main Card fights starting at 7:15 pm PT, 10:15 pm ET also on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
Here are my UFC Vegas 112 predictions and props, as well as the latest odds and my favorite Royval vs Kape picks.
Royval vs Kape Picks
This bout has all the makings of a fight of the night contender. Kape wants nothing more than to keep this fight upright, while Royval is no stranger to a brawl.
As the bigger, stronger fighter, that style certainly favors Kape. That’s why he’s a lopsided -285 favorite, although you can make the argument that the price isn’t short enough. Royval is extremely durable, but routinely puts himself in bad positions. His striking defense is poor, especially versus headshots, which is problematic against a fighter with Kape’s power.
The 32-year-old has finished each of his past two opponents via knockout, and has won by KO in 13 of his 21 professional victories. Kape has also ramped up his striking aggression in recent fights, landing 6.0 significant strikes per minute, compared to 5.04 per minute for the duration of his UFC tenure.
Tale of the Tape
Royval has the better grappling pedigree, but he rarely takes fights to the mat. He averages only 0.5 takedown attempts per 5 minutes and is also susceptible to opposing takedowns. Royval boasts just a 45% takedown defense, compared to 81% for Kape.
It’s not unthinkable that Kape could end this fight via submission, but ultimately, I expect these two to slug it out, a style that greatly benefits the favorite.

UFC Vegas 112 Props
Switching over to the props market, where I have a pair of bets to target. Let’s start with 3+ takedowns for Sean Sharaf versus Steve Asplund. Sharaf is a capable and willing grappler, and his best path to victory is on the mat. He doesn’t have the power to stand toe-to-toe with Asplund, and the ladder has no takedown defense to speak of. Literally.
Asplund has a 0% takedown defense across seven fights. Granted, he hasn’t faced many grapplers, but he proved how vulnerable he was to takedowns in his loss last year against Denzel Freeman.
Sharaf, meanwhile, averages over two takedowns per 15 minutes and will do everything he can to get Asplund to the ground. That task should prove much easier as the fight wears on, as Asplund has no engine to speak of.
Sticking with props, I’ll also take the Amanda Lemos vs Gillian Robertson fight not to go the distance. Lemos is a phenomenal power puncher, and can finish her opponent with one well-timed strike. Robertson, on the hand, is an extremely strong grappler and a submission specialist.
Either she takes Lemos down and eventually earns a submission, or her opponent finds a knockout blow. One way or another, this bout is ending inside the distance.
UFC 112 Predictions:
- Sean Sharaf 3+ Takedowns (+300)
- Lemos vs Robertson Fight to Not go the distance (-110)
