Let me be upfront. If this fight goes late, Volkanovski likely wins. He dominated the first meeting with 158 significant strikes to Lopes’ 63 over five rounds. His footwork, fight IQ, and championship experience are still elite.

Here’s why these two outcomes go together. Lopes is a fast starter. He has 15 first-round finishes across his career and an 85% finish rate overall. He’s not going to outpoint Volkanovski over 25 minutes. If Lopes wins, it’s almost certainly early via knockout.

In the first Lopes fight, Volk got dropped in Round 2 and hurt badly in Round 4. He won, but admitted afterward he had stitches everywhere and couldn’t see out of one eye.
