San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors (-6.5, 206 o/u)

Neither the San Antonio Spurs nor the Golden State Warriors made any moves at yesterday’s trade deadline. Now, armed with their rosters for the foreseeable futures, these two Western Conference powers will meet tonight at Oracle Arena (10:00 p.m. Eastern).

Last time these teams met was back November, and San Antonio handed Golden State a rare 113-110 home loss. The Warriors had no answer for Tony Parker that night, as the Frenchman poured in 28 points and added seven assists.

After that game, Golden State head coach was – like the rest of us – astonished at the longevity of Parker and running mates Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili.

“Look, I retired 12 years ago, and the same three top players and the same coach are still over there. It’s insane,” said Kerr (who won two of his five NBA titles playing under Gregg Popovich in San Antonio).

San Antonio has won seven of its last ten and are seventh in the Western Conference. But the recent streak has them sitting just one game back of sixth-place Dallas.

Golden State, meanwhile, comes in as the top team in the Western Conference with a 42-9 record. They have the best offense in the league, scoring 110.6 points per game. Stephen Curry is having an MVP caliber season, leading the Warriors in points (23.6 PPG), assists (7.9 APG), and steals (2.2 SPG). Big man Andrew Bogut holds the fort on defense, pulling down 8.4 RPG and adding 1.8 BPG.

In the trends, the Spurs are 7-3 ATS in their last ten versus Golden State. Curiously, the Spurs have also fared well on Fridays, going 2-0-2 ATS in their last four Friday games. The Warriors might pick up the win, but San Antonio and the points (+6.5) looks like the better option.
