Another Hot Game For Randle From Downtown
New York Knicks star Julius Randle has been a breath of fresh air this season. He’s been one of the biggest reasons Tom Thibodeau’s team is currently in the very heart of the playoff race while torching opponents on a nightly basis.
Randle has been going off lately, dropping 40 points on Wednesday night against the Hawks. One area of his game that has drastically improved in 2020/21 has been three-point shooting. The former Kentucky standout has never been known as much of a threat from downtown, but the work Randle put in during the offseason has clearly paid off.
The Knicks forward is taking a career-high 5.3 threes per game and draining them at an impressive 41% clip. That’s a drastic improvement from last season where he shot a dismal 27% from beyond the arc.
Randle has hit the over in three of his last five appearances, including a 6 for 8 performance vs. Atlanta. Coming off a game where the 26-year-old had such a hot hand, there’s a high chance Randle will be feeling it again. Saturday’s opponent in the Raptors is allowing their opponents to drain 37.6% of their attempts from long range as well, which is 25th in the association. Take the over.
Pick: Julius Randle Over 2.5 Three Pointers (-140)
Gobert Dominates on The Boards
Rudy Gobert is one of the most forceful bigs in the game and a matchup nightmare for almost every single opponent. His Utah Jazz are currently the top dog in the NBA with a 44-15 record and that’s much in part to the Frenchman’s dominance on the glass.
The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is averaging 14.5 points and 13.6 rebounds per game this season and has hit the over in three of his last four contests. Gobert collected 18 boards in a win over Houston a few nights ago and just last week, grabbed a ridiculous 23 rebounds against the Pacers.
Even with Karl-Anthony Towns opposite to him on Saturday, this is still a clear opportunity for Gobert to have another big night. The Timberwolves are 22nd in the league in boards. Also, in his only other contest against Minny earlier in the campaign, the Jazz big man collected 16 rebounds. The over is a worthy bet.
Pick: Rudy Gobert Over 13.5 Rebounds (+104)
