The NBA Finals are finally here and Game 1 is set to go down on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. ET from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. There, the Toronto Raptors will play in their first ever NBA Finals in franchise history as they take on the Golden State Warriors who are looking to three-peat.
Not only are the Warriors the betting favorites, but they are also likely to be the favorites of former NBA All-Star Paul Pierce according to the latest odds.

Paul Pierce Curse?
There is an idea floating around social media that there is such a thing as a Paul Pierce curse. Lately, whoever he picks has gone on to lose. That was certainly the case in the Eastern Conference Finals when he picked the Milwaukee Bucks, only to see them go down in flames.
And, in the second round, after the Celtics won Game 1 against the Bucks, Pierce said the Bucks have no chance. Milwaukee, as you may recall, won four straight, just like Toronto, to snap Pierce’s pick.
However, his NBA Finals predictions have been better, as he did take the Warriors over the Cavaliers last year saying Cleveland had no chance, which was ultimately true.
Who Will Pierce Pick?
I think this one is rather obvious, as many have pointed out, Pierce always picks against the Raptors. In the second-round, Pierce mentioned how he didn’t trust the Raptors. Although he said it would be a close series he picked the 76ers to win. So, he has picked against Toronto in two of the three series so far. Don’t be surprised if he picks against the Raptors again here.
The Warriors have been projected to win the Finals since they won last year. Kevin Durant could return for Game 3, DeMarcus Cousins could be back this series, and they still have the likes of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, among others.
Although I believe Toronto has a better chance to win than most, as I think this series goes six games, I believe Pierce will pick the Warriors to win.
