The Milwaukee Bucks take their 1-0 series lead against the Boston Celtics into Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday, with tip-off scheduled for 7 PM ET at the TD Garden. Read on for the Bucks vs Celtics odds.

Game 1 was all Bucks, with Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the way with his second career playoff triple-double. The C’s star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown struggled to get going and will need to bounce back here if their squad is going to have any chance at tying up the series.

Bucks Look to Take 2-0 Series Lead

Milwaukee might be without their second-best scorer in Khris Middleton. However, you wouldn’t have known it based on Game 1 in Beantown. Mike Budenholzer’s squad rolled into the Garden and imposed their will on the Celtics, who were full of confidence after sweeping the Nets.

Giannis was brilliant, posting a stat line of 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. Although he only shot 9-25 from the field, the Greek Freak truly impacted the game in countless ways. He did a fantastic job of collapsing the defense and opening up his shooters, evident by his double-digits in dimes. Jrue Holiday needed to step up in a big way sans Middleton and he did just that, scoring 25 points as well.

It wasn’t exactly a lights-out shooting night for the Bucks, but they were efficient. Milwaukee absolutely cooked Boston in transition, outscoring them 28-8, and dominated in the paint, 34-20. More importantly, their defense locked down the likes of Tatum and Brown and held the C’s to a 33% clip from the field. They also simply had no way of stopping Giannis. If he continues to play at this high level and finds his teammates clean looks, Budenholzer’s group will be in great shape.

Celtics Shooting Disappeared in Game 1 Loss

After destroying Brooklyn, the Celtics were undoubtedly feeling themselves heading into Game 1 but that quickly changed. This ended up being a rather sub-par performance from Ime Udoka’s team, managing to score a mere 20 points in the paint and shooting under 40% from deep and the field. Boston typically takes good care of the basketball but that wasn’t the case in the series opener, committing 18 turnovers which the Bucks translated into 27 points.

Tatum, who showed out in the first round, wasn’t awful. He still had 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists, but he shot just 6 for 18 from the field and clearly didn’t play his best, with Milwaukee’s defense forcing him into some tough looks. It was Brown that struggled immensely, collecting a mere 12 points on 22 shots. Both stars have to play at their absolute best if Boston is going to compete in the series.

Also, the C’s must be a lot better on the fast-break. The Bucks really killed them in these situations and that also comes back to limiting the mistakes on the offensive side of the ball. Considering how badly Boston shot the basketball, to lose by 12 points is by no means a worst-case scenario given their inability to score on Sunday.

Containing The Greek Freak is nearly impossible, even with double-teams, but making sure they switch off and guard his supporting cast more closely can help limit the damage in Game 2. DPOY Marcus Smart is listed as questionable here due to a quad contusion as well, which could prove to be a big loss if he ultimately sits.

Bucks vs Celtics Prediction

I clearly underestimated the Bucks in Game 1 after taking Boston to cover. This is a team with a championship pedigree and they looked phenomenal on Sunday. That being said, Milwaukee is an underdog here and if the C’s do pull one out, it will be close. ATS is the best pick.

There is also a valuable player prop to monitor here for a same game parlay. Antetokonmpo’s over/under in assists is listed as only 6.5. With the way he facilitated the other day, Giannis will easily hit the over again.

Pick: Bucks ATS +4.5 (-110), Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 6.5 Assists (-128)
