The Bucks are coming off an impressive victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the entire rotation chipping in. The Sixers meanwhile took down the surprising Utah Jazz at home, with Joel Embiid going absolutely off for a career-high 59 points.

Milwaukee has won eight of their last nine against the 76ers and already beat them on Opening Night, 90-88.

Bucks Thriving Without Middleton

Milwaukee is truly flourishing in 2022-23 and looking like a legitimate title contender. The most impressive part is they’re doing it without Khris Middleton, their second-best player. Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 29.9 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists to lead the way with a whopping usage percentage of 38.8. Jrue Holiday is complementing The Greek Freak with 19.6 points, 7.9 dimes, and 5.7 boards.

After a pair of losses to the Hawks and Spurs, the Bucks bounced back on Wednesday with a convincing victory over the slumping Cavs. It wasn’t the usual big night from Giannis, but he still put up a stat line of 16 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. Most importantly, everyone got in on the action as Brook Lopez balled out for a team-high 29, while three others also finished in double-digits.

Milwaukee outrebounded Cleveland 52-34 and shot nearly 50% overall. Plus, they showed a lot more tenacity around the cup, outscoring their opponents 21-6 on second-chance points. Given the recent success against Philadelphia, the Bucks will be feeling confident here that another win could be in the cards.

Can Embiid Will Philly to Another Win?

No James Harden has been a tough blow for the Sixers. They’re sitting at .500 on the year without their star point guard, who was showing out before suffering a foot injury. But, Embiid is helping lessen the load, posting over 30 points and 10 rebounds per game, while Tyrese Maxey has also taken a huge step, averaging 22.8 PPG in 14 contests.

On Sunday, Embiid truly put together a performance for the ages with 59 points. To be honest, he is the only reason Doc Rivers’ squad even managed to win this contest. The rest of the rotation was atrocious, with Maxey’s 18 points the only other bright spot. The Cameroonian big man was 19 for 28 from the field and 20 for 24 from the charity stripe, literally beating Utah all on his own.

What’s clear is the 76ers must play a mile better against the Bucks here. They shot a putrid 17% from deep and were ice-cold offensively. Embiid isn’t going to drop nearly 60 points every night and there is a reason these role players were brought in: To produce. With a full four days off, Philly should at least be well-rested.

Bucks vs 76ers Prediction

The Sixers seem to be finding a bit of rhythm, although the Jazz victory wasn’t pretty. But, I can’t ignore Milwaukee’s dominance of their East foes. Take the Bucks.

Pick: Bucks moneyline (+110)
