The Boston Celtics (44-17. 20-10 away) might be the best team in basketball, but they’ve been doing a lot of skating since coming out of the all-star break.
We’ll see if the surging New York Knicks (35-27, 17-15 home) can capitalize.
The Knicks have ripped off five straight wins, and have pulled into a virtual tie with Brooklyn for fifth in the East.
Boston is coming off a bonkers win in Philly, their second-straight post all-star win (their seventh in eight overall), but they’ve been great escapes vs total dominance. They’ll also be down all-star Jaylen Brown, out due to undisclosed personal reasons.
This one gets underway Monday (Feb 27) at 7:30pm ET from Madison Square Garden, in a game you can see live on NBA League Pass.
Celtics vs Knicks Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Boston Celtics | -2.5 (-110) | -140 | Ov 223 (-110) |
New York Knicks | +2.5 (-110) | +120 | Un 223 (-110) |
The NBA odds have the league-leading Celtics as 2.5-point road favorites and -140 on the moneyline. The total is set at 223.
At 17-15 at MSG, New York has the fewest home wins of the six teams secured in a current playoff spot. They are the only team in the East with a better road record than at home.
With their win in Philly, Boston improved to 20-10 away from TD Garden. They’re the only team to crack 20 road wins, and the team with the fewest road losses.

Boston Betting Analysis
Perhaps the best thing you could say about the Celtics the last two games is they’ve gotten wins, even if they haven’t been their best.
Against Indiana, they blew a 10-point halftime lead and needed double-OT to finally oust the Pacers. In their last game, Boston needed to rally from 15 down in the third quarter as part of their comeback in a 110-107 decision over the 76ers.

Jayson Tatum’s three-pointer proved to be the game winner, but not before a Joel Embiid three-quarter court heave rippled mesh, but just a second after time expired in the fourth quarter.
Tatum’s hit was the bright spot in an otherwise tough evening in primetime. He finished with 18 points on 7-for-17 shooting, with 13 rebounds and six assists, but also turned the ball over five times.
He won’t have Brown to lean on Monday. JB led the team with 26 points, four boards, three dimes and three steals. Derrick White (ankle) is listed as probable. He matched Tatum’s 18 off the bench on 7-for-9 shooting vs Philly Saturday.
New York Betting Analysis
Talk about a show-me stretch for New York. Boston bookends a four-game set for the Knicks, who also face the Nets and Heat in between — teams directly above and beneath them in the East.
For now, the focus is staying hot, as the Knicks picked up their 10th win in 14 games with a 128-106 drubbing of the New Orleans Pelicans. The Knicks didn’t trail for a single second in this one.

Julius Randle followed up on his 46-point explosion last game against Washington with 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists. RJ Barrett went for 25, with seven dimes and four boards, while Jalen Brunson netted 20 points to go along with five assists.
New York has been an offensive juggernaut during this fun-run, putting up 123 points per game, on 49.2% shooting from the field and 37.9% from distance. Those numbers spike to 126 on 50.2% from the field and 39% from three-point range in three wins at MSG.
Defensively, they’ve held clubs to 108.4 points, on 44.8% from the field and just 31.4% from three.

Celtics vs Knicks Betting Prediction
Boston is actually one of the big wins along this recent stretch for New York, who downed them 120-117 in OT on Jan 26. Randle led the way with 37 points and nine boards, with Brunson adding 29 and seven dimes. Tatum went for 35 and 14 rebounds.
While Boston has gone 18-8 straight up as a road favorite, tough they are just 13-13 against the spread. Despite some shaky play out of the break, the C’s are still 7-1 ATS in their last eight.
New York has been a great bet during their win streak, going 4-0-1 ATS in their five straight victories.
The Brown loss is a big one, and with New York playing so well as of late, let’s take the Knicks to cover. And we’ll parlay it: the over is 5-1 in the last six head-to-heads, and the over has cashed in four of the last five in NYC.
Pick:Â
- Knicks +2.5 & OVER 223.5 (+272); 1.5 units to win 4.08 units
- NBA Betting Record: 29-28-1 ATS, 1-2 ML, 5-0 o/u, 0-2 parlays; -11 units
