The surging Los Angeles Clippers (30-26, 16-15 away) will continue their East Coast road trip on Monday night in the Big Apple as they face the new-look Brooklyn Nets (32-20, 16-8 home), who just traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. The tip-off here is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET at the Barclays Center. Find the Clippers vs Nets prediction below.

The Clips continue to trend in the right direction and just beat the New York Knicks at MSG on Saturday, their seventh win in the last 10 games. Brooklyn is also coming off a victory, storming back in the second half to take down the Washington Wizards.

The Clippers are favored by six points on the road Monday with moneyline odds of -240. That’s an implied win probability of 70.59%. They’ve gone 27-27 ATS. The Nets return at +200 and own an ATS underdog record of 10-6. Plus, Brooklyn is 16-8 at home.

The Nets beat LA back in November, but Kawhi Leonard wasn’t playing and Kevin Durant was healthy.

Clippers Finding Themselves

All it took was their two stars to be on the floor. For most of the first half, Kawhi and Paul George dealt with injury problems. However, the duo has managed to be available more often than not lately and it’s showing in the Clippers’ performance. Leonard is balling out at the moment, while PG is doing his part too.

Kawhi was the leading catalyst against the Knicks, pouring in 35 points. That’s now five 30+ outings in his previous eight contests. George also added 30. In fact, four others finished in double-figures, with Norman Powell dropping 24 points off the bench. As per usual, LA shot the triple extremely well, going 16 for 37 (43%), and also drained nearly 50% of their field goals.

That being said, it wasn’t all roses here. The Clippers blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter and allowed NY to force overtime. Los Angeles took their foot off the gas pedal on both ends and it nearly cost them. Thankfully, the group delivered in OT, with Leonard sinking eight free throws in the extra period. This is the final game of this road swing before they return home Wednesday for a meeting with the Mavs.

New-Look Nets

Things can sure change in a hurry. It was only Friday when Kyrie requested a trade and on Sunday, he got his wish. The Nets sent the guard to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for a first-round pick and a pair of second-round picks, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Spencer Dinwiddie. Of course, Dinwiddie once played for Brooklyn. It’s unknown if the two will be suiting up Monday.

Even without Kyrie on Saturday who was suspiciously dealing with calf soreness just hours after asking for a trade, Jacque Vaughn’s squad battled and secured an extremely gritty win. The Nets trailed by 23 points at one point but came out all guns blazing in the second half, outscoring the Wizards 70-50.

The star of the show proved to be youngster Cam Thomas, who exploded for a career-high 44 points off the bench. Edmond Sumner, who started in place of Irving, also collected a career-high 29 points. Brooklyn battled and made a statement with their depleted rotation. It was beyond impressive.

Clippers vs Nets Prediction

Whether Finney-Smith and Dinwiddie play or not, I think the Clippers cruise.  LA is playing far too well currently. They’ll cover.

Pick: Clippers -6 (-110)
