  • We’ve got a small but mighty three-game NBA slate awaiting bettors Tuesday, December 14, 2021
  • A great way to get in on the action are NBA player props which are still in play even on the smallest of slates
  • See below to find out some of the best player props to bet on tonight

The NBA slate looks kind of bare tonight with only three games. It’s not totally on the NBA since a fourth game between the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls was postponed due to Covid concerns. Still, as bettors, we must move on.

There are positives tonight people. First off, we get to watch Stephen Curry set the all-time three-pointers record at Madison Square Garden. I say watch because the Golden State Warriors are taking on the New York Knicks on TNT at 7:30pm ET. After that, we’re checking out the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers at 10:00pm ET on the same channel. That’s right, two of the three games are on TNT!

There are more unforeseen roster changes in the NBA than any other sport. Because of that, many books are reluctant to post player prop lines too early in the day. For that reason, not all of the teams in action tonight are included in the table below. Scroll down to see the lines that are available and a couple of best bets.

Odds as of Dec 14th at FanDuel & DraftKings

It’s Burks’ Night Tonight

Alec Burks is a scorer. He’s always been a scorer and he will always be one. He’s a shooter’s favorite type of shooter so there are night’s when he will be cold but when he’s on, there is no chance of stopping him. He can pull up from anywhere on the floor and knock down anything. It’s magical.

The Knicks are going through all kinds of Covid issues at the moment so there will be a tight rotation tonight. There is always a tight rotation with Tom Thibodeau coaching but it will be extra tight tonight. A tight rotation means more minutes and for a guy like Burks, it means more shots.

Burks missed last game so we didn’t get to see the lineup with Derrick Rose starting at point guard with Burks playing shooting guard. Instead we saw Quentin Grimes (who?) drop 27 points against the Bucks. My best guess is Burks plays a role where he takes 15+ shots tonight and gets home on this number.

  • The Pick: Alec Burks Over 16.5 points (+100)

Barnes is the Best Rookie in the NBA

I’m a big rookie guy. Love them. Can’t get enough of them. The books have such a hard time making numbers for them and that’s on top of the fact that these kids play every game like it’s the NBA Finals.

My favorite rookie this season is Scottie Barnes.

Tonight we have a pretty bad number on Barnes. I’m guessing it’s coming from the first time where he only scored eight points against the Nets but he only took seven shots that night. They had OG Anunoby at that point and he ate up usage. That’s not the case tonight and it wouldn’t be crazy to see Barnes take at least 14 shots from the field.

If that happens, he should surely score more than 13.5 points.

  • The Pick: Scottie Barnes Over 13.5 points (-116)
