The Spurs host the Blazers tonight minus two of their biggest stars. Both Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle have already been ruled out, but the injuries didn’t stop online sportsbooks from pegging San Antonio as favorites in the NBA odds.
That opens up value on Portland in the spread market in my eyes, and I expect the Blazers to lean heavily on Toumani Camara to anchor the offense and potentially pull off the upset.

Wembanyama’s absence cannot be overstated. His rib injury removes a generational anchor from the middle of the floor, immediately compromising defensive rebounding. Without Castle to initiate the offense, expect isolation sets and a stagnant pace, which is the opposite of what’s made San Antonio a top NBA Championship odds contender.
Portland is dealing with its own wave of injuries, as Jerami Grant is out, eliminating a reliable isolation scorer. This consolidates the offensive volume, and Camara is the primary beneficiary. He’ll be tasked with absorbing heavy frontcourt minutes against a suddenly highly vulnerable interior defense.
Blazers vs Spurs Stats
On paper, San Antonio looks like a juggernaut. But context is everything. Minus Wembanyama and Castle, those elite metrics are entirely inflated. Portland leads the league in second-chance points (18.4), and without San Antonio’s primary rim protector, the Blazers’ rebounding advantage gives them a massive edge.
From a situational betting angle, the trends absolutely point to the visitors. Portland is an impressive 4-1 ATS over their last 5 games, 4-1 ATS as an underdog, and 4-1 ATS following a loss. Meanwhile, the Spurs are a highly unreliable 1-3 ATS at home over their last 4 games.
I am happily grabbing the points with the Blazers. In addition, I’m also betting under 229.5 points. Both squads normally prefer to get up and down the court, ranking inside the top-12 in pace. However, missing key playmakers disrupts transition flow, forcing a slow half-court offense.
Shifting gears to the NBA props market, where I’m betting Camara’s usage rate will spike. He has proven he can answer the bell when called upon. Camara has scored 17+ points in four straight outings, clearing 22 points in three of those games. He’s fresh off a 30 point performance versus Denver, shooting a blistering 61.5% from beyond the arc.
Given the sheer lack of defensive resistance he will face against a Wembanyama-less defense, betting over on his 15.5-point prop is my favorite player prop wager on the board tonight.
Blazers vs Spurs Odds
If you want to tail my picks tonight, make sure you have access to multiple sportsbooks. FanDuel has the shortest odds on Portland +3.5, while BetMGM is the only book at the moment to hang a 229.5 point total, making them the preferred choice to bet the under with. For Camara’s prop line visit DraftKings, as they’re still posting a points line of 15.5, where most other books have moved the number to 16.5.
