Jarrett Allen Continues to Dominate on the Glass

The Cleveland Cavaliers don’t have a ton to be happy about nowadays with an 11-18 record. But if there’s one positive right now, it would be Jarrett Allen’s nightly performances.

The former Brooklyn Nets center has impressed since landing in Cleveland, averaging 14.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per night. Since the Cavs have decided to sit Andre Drummond with the intention of trading him, Allen has slotted into the starting lineup on a regular basis lately.

He’s been dominating on the glass for Cleveland, averaging 13 rebounds through his last five appearances. On Monday, he dropped 26 points and collected 17 boards, while also shooting a perfect 11 for 11 from the field.

The Cavaliers’ opponents on Wednesday in the Houston Rockets have also struggled, especially around the rim. They’re allowing a league-worst 57.5 rebounds per game this season.

With their primary rebounder in Christian Wood still out and DeMarcus Cousins now on his way out of H-Town, this is going to be a cakewalk for Allen. There’s no serious threat inside. Bet on the over.

  • Pick: Over 13.5 Rebounds (-106)

SGA Takes Advantage of Depleted Spurs

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is about one of the only bright spots for the organization this season. They’re in the midst of a rebuild, but the Canadian has shown star potential.

He’s averaging a career-high 22.8 points per night, while also dishing out almost double the number of assists as last season with 6.5 per game. SGA is always the focal point of the offense for OKC, and he’s averaged 29 points over his last two contests.

The Thunder are up against a COVID-19 stricken San Antonio Spurs team on Wednesday, who hasn’t played since February 14th due to the positive cases. They’re actually doing relatively well with a 16-11 record, but Gregg Popovich will be without DeMar DeRozan, Derrick White, Keldon Johnson, Rudy Gay, and possibly, LaMarcus Aldridge, who is questionable with a hip issue.

Gilgeous-Alexander had 20 against the Spurs back in a 112-102 loss in January, but with San Antonio missing several key players, expect the Thunder star to comfortably hit the over, especially since he’s been hot lately.

  • Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 23.5 (+100)
