The recharged Philadelphia 76ers will be looking to even up this series at two on Sunday in Game 4 against the Miami Heat. The tip-off is scheduled for 8pm ET at the Wells Fargo Center.
Philly, who was in a 0-2 hole heading into Friday, got a huge boost with the return of superstar big-man Joel Embiid. While he didn’t have a massive game, his presence alone made a notable difference in a convincing 99-79 victory on home court. That was also the second- lowest point total of the season for Miami.
Heat vs 76ers Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Miami Heat | +1.5 (-110) | +102 | Ov 207 (-110) |
Philadelphia 76ers | -1.5 (-110) | -120 | Un 207 (-110) |
Odds as of May 7th at FanDuel.
The Sixers are a slim 1.5-point favorite here and easily covered the spread in Game 3.

Heat Betting Outlook
Friday’s loss was easily one of Miami’s worst games of the entire season. The offense looks drastically out of sync and struggled to get anything going, outside of Jimmy Butler’s 33 points. Tyler Herro dropped 14 and was the only other player in the rotation who scored in double-figures.

There is no question Embiid injected life into Philly, but Erik Spoelstra’s squad simply didn’t come to play. They shot a putrid 35% from the field and 23% from three-point land.
Surprisingly though, the Heat were actually still in this contest late in the third quarter, trailing by just three points going into the fourth. That’s when everything unraveled for Miami however, getting outscored 31-14 in the final period.
Jimmy Butler scored about 42% of Miami’s points tonight, 33 of their 79 total points.
For reference, if the Heat scored their regular season average of 110.0 PPG, Butler would have had 46 points.

Bam Adebayo must be a lot better in Game 4 as he posted a mere nine points and three rebounds. The battle with Embiid on the boards is always going to be tough, but it will be a crucial factor in the outcome of this series.
As a whole, the supporting cast around Jimmy Buckets needs to wake up on Sunday. It was an abysmal showing, with Kyle Lowry literally posting a goose egg. That being said, this Heat team is resilient and should be able to bounce back. After all, they’re the top seed for a reason.
76ers Betting Outlook
It’s insane how different of a team Philly is with Embiid. After looking extremely flat in the first two games of the series, the Sixers came out of the gates firing in Game 3.
It wasn’t even Embiid who did most of the damage, either. The MVP finalist had just 18 points and 11 rebounds, but the rest of the first unit flourished around him.

Danny Green broke out with a stellar shooting night, scoring all of his 21 points from beyond the arc, while Tyrese Maxey dropped 21 of his own all in the second half as he torched the Heat.
All but one starter finished in double-figures, with Philadelphia shooting a scorching 48% from deep. One area where Doc Rivers’ group managed to cook Miami was in transition, outscoring them 19-6 on fastbreak points.

This series is truly wide open now. With the home crowd behind them, the 76ers will be extremely hopeful of tying it up at 2-2 on Sunday. The only thing they could still clean up is the 18 turnovers, which translated into 19 points for the Heat.
Embiid should come back even stronger as well, after briefly getting his feet wet following a six-day absence due to various injuries.
Heat vs 76ers Prediction
I really like how Philly played the other night. There is no question Miami will respond in Game 4 and it should end up being a very close contest.
That being said, Embiid knows he has a lot more in the tank and I expect him to bring it. The rest of this Sixers squad is feeling a new level of confidence with their best player back in the mix and with the Wells Fargo faithful cheering them on, they’ll collect another important win.
