Pacers vs Knicks Game 5 Injury Reports

The Knicks remain the more injury-riddled team ahead of Game 5 with Mitchell Robinson (ankle), OG Anunoby (hamstring), and Bojan Bogdanovic (foot/wrist) all joining Julius Randle (shoulder) on the injury list since the postseason began.

The Pacers’ injury report still lists Tyrese Haliburton (back spasms) as questionable, as it has for every game in the series. Haliburton has averaged 34.4 MPG in the series. He only played 28 minutes in Game 4, but Indiana was nursing a comfortable lead throughout the second half.

Indiana Dominates on Sunday to Even Series

After a tight 111-106 Indiana win in Game 3, which the Knicks led by as many as nine in the fourth quarter, the Pacers left no doubt in Game 4. Indiana raced out to a 20-point lead in the first quarter and stretched it to 32 by halftime, ultimately cruising to a 121-89 victory. Haliburton had a team-high 20 points in just 28 minutes while six Pacers (including three bench players) scored in double-figures.

Backup point guard TJ McConnell had a 15-point, 10-assist double-double.

As a team, the Pacers shot 56.8% from the field and 45.2% from three. The Knicks connected at just 33.7% from the floor and were an abysmal 7-of-37 from beyond the arc (18.9%).

With the game out of reach by halftime, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau elected to play his reserves for the majority of the second half. Alec Burks finished with a team-high 20 points off the bench. Burks played his first minute since April 12 in Game 2 and combined to score 34 points in 44 minutes in Games 3 and 4.

NBA player props from DraftKings on May 14.

Brunson, who scored just 18 points in 31 minutes in Game 4, has a game-high 33.5 point total in Game 5 on Tuesday. Brunson had scored at least 39 points in five straight games before Game 2 of this series. But the Knicks superstar has been held to 29 or fewer in the last three, averaging 24.3 PPG in that span. Haliburton leads the Pacers at 20.5 O/U. The Pacers’ All-Star scored 34 and 35 in Games 2 and 3 before an efficient 20 on 8-of-15 shooting in 28 minutes in Game 4.

Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks Game 5 Predictions

The Pacers were close in both Games 1 and 2 at MSG. They held a sizable halftime lead in both games but couldn’t close down the stretch. The difference between these teams’ ceilings was on full display in Game 4. Indiana has one of the most-dynamic offenses in the NBA, while the Knicks rely on shutdown defense and Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks have a superb home-court advantage at MSG, and it proved the difference during the first two games of the series. But I expect the young, less-experienced Pacers to better handle the hostile environment in Game 5, now that they’ve already faced it twice.

IND vs NYK Game 5 picks:

  • Pacers moneyline (+110)
  • Haliburton over 20.5 points (-125)
  • Burks under 9.5 (-122)
