Odds as of January 10th at FanDuel

VanVleet Continues to Show Out

Fred VanVleet is making a serious case for being an All-Star next month. The Raptors guard is one of the biggest reasons Nick Nurse’s squad is riding a six-game winning streak as he continues to score in bunches on a nightly basis. VanVleet has hit the over in points in eight of his nine appearances, but there’s more. Six of those contests were 30+ performances.

That being said, he’s just erupted for 32 and 37 in back-to-back games against the Jazz and Pelicans. Whether FVV is pulling up and draining a deep three or getting to the cup at will and finishing amongst bigs, the 27-year-old is absolutely in his bag right now.

Yes, the Suns are a very good team on both sides of the ball, but VanVleet just torched the Bucks, Nets, Jazz, and even the Warriors last month. The former Wichita State standout is on a mission. This is a no-brainer here.

  • Pick: Fred VanVleet Over 23.5 Points (-110)

Bane Makes it Rain

Desmond Bane has proven to be a crucial piece for the Grizzlies this season alongside Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. The physical guard is averaging 17.7 points and 4.5 boards on an impressive 43% clip from three-point range in Year Two and lately, Bane is on a tear.

The ex-TCU star has dropped 20+ points in six of his last eight contests. But, the focus here is his shooting. Bane just hit the over in triples in three consecutive games and went 5 for 8 in his last two against the Lakers and Clippers. While Bane is strong enough to get to the cup and finish, most of his offensive output is coming from downtown. The Warriors are elite defensively, but he had three makes from long range in his last meeting with the Dubs as well. Believe in Bane’s hot hand.

  • Pick: Desmond Bane Over 2.5 Three-Pointers (-156)
