January 17th NBA Props – Best Player Prop Bets for All Six Games

- Several of the league’s best players will be in action, including Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Zach LaVine

It’s a light schedule on Sunday, January 17th in the Association, with just six contests set to be played. There won’t be any superstars facing off, but there are still some worthy meetings to keep an eye on.
Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks will visit the struggling Chicago Bulls. Despite their four-game losing streak, Zach LaVine has been showing out during that span.
In other action, it will be a Northwest Division showdown between the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets, while the red-hot Boston Celtics will be looking for their sixth straight victory as they take on the New York Knicks, who haven’t won in five games.

LaVine Shows Out…Again
Zach LaVine has been on a tear this season, despite the Bulls’ poor start. The former UCLA standout is currently averaging 28.3 points through 12 games, which is third in the league behind only Steph Curry and Bradley Beal.
LaVine takes a high amount of three’s per game, but he’s draining them at a 39.7 percent clip. It’s particularly in his last three appearances where the Chicago star has been on fire from downtown. In a loss to OKC on Friday, LaVine went 8 for 14 from long range. The previous game? 10 for 16 against the LA Clippers.
In fact, the 25-year old has been torching his opponents lately from all over the court. He’s averaging over 30 per night over his last four games, including a 38-point performance against the defending champion LA Lakers, then 45 against Kawhi Leonard and the Clips.
No matter the competition, LaVine can’t be stopped right now. Although it’s not necessarily helping the Bulls win basketball games, he is quickly proving to be one of the most electric scorers in the league early on.
The last time LaVine faced off against Dallas, he dropped 39. Although a lot of his buckets are coming from the perimeter, the Bulls guard is still a force in the paint thanks to his tremendous athleticism.
Dallas has the second-best defensive rating in the league at 105.6, but I don’t see that stopping LaVine. If he can put up almost 40 points against LeBron and the Lakers, it shouldn’t be any issue posting at least 25 against the Mavericks. Betting on the over here is safe.

Gobert Dominates On The Boards
Rudy Gobert has faced a fair share of criticism for his lack of productivity on the offensive end. But if there’s one thing you can count on the Frenchman for, it’s his ability to collect rebounds.
The Jazz big man is currently second in the NBA with 13.3 boards per game as his team rolls into this clash with Denver on a four-game winning streak. Much in part to Gobert’s presence on the glass, Utah ranks first in the association with 50.4 rebounds per night.
It certainly helps when you’re seven feet tall, but the 28-year old really does have a brilliant idea of what positions to be in around the hoop. He’s also extremely tough to box out because of his stature. Paired with his ridiculous wingspan, Gobert can pretty much outduel any opposing big in the paint.
Nikola Jokic is definitely an imposing figure as he leads the Nuggets with 11.2 rebounds. But after the Serbian, Denver doesn’t have any other premier rebounders. Plus, the Joker is also their best facilitator, so he’s not always patrolling the glass like Gobert.
Mike Malone’s team is also at the bottom in the league in rebounds, so this does seem like a contest where Utah’s center can do some damage. He’s also collected ten boards or more in all but one game this season. Putting your money on Gobert to hit the over here is a very safe bet.
