Odds as of June 6th

Young Leads the Way

One thing that was noticeable about Trae Young in the first round series with the New York Knicks is that he’s Atlanta’s alpha. The way he interacted with the crowd in New York was all the evidence we need. He enjoyed being the villain and his game seemed to feed off of the role.

One thing is for sure, he will be the villain once again in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

During the regular season, Young averaged 17.7 shots per game but in five playoff games, that number has swollen to 22.2. With more volume comes more opportunity for points and Young is averaging 29.2 points per game thus far in the playoffs. The Hawks will no doubt need him to keep it up if they want to advance past the 76ers.

Instead of attacking Young’s points prop at 26.5 (-116), we can take his alt line on FanDuel. He’s being offered at 27.5 (+104) in that market which is a better price in my opinion. He scored in the 30s in three of the five playoff games he’s played so far. Against Philadelphia, he will likely take shot attempts in the 20s but it only took him 19 attempts to score 32 points when the teams last met April 30th.

I like Young to go off this afternoon.

  • The Pick: Young OVER 27.5 Points (+104) * Alt Line

Boban Alert

Everyone in the DFS world knows Boban. When he plays, it becomes an event because it doesn’t take long for him to compile statistics. At 7’4″, the 32-year-old is a walking bucket simply because other teams just don’t have anyone down low that can handle him. The Los Angeles Clippers are one of those teams.

The issue with Boban is we don’t know how much he will play in any given game but his role has been consistent recently. Judging by how he has been deployed since Game 4, he looks like he is good for 14-20 minutes. Anyone who has watched Boban knows he can do a ton of damage in that amount of time. He’s gone over 8.5 points in all three games of this series, and if he is used to fill the same role today, he will go over again.

  • The Pick: Marjanovic Over 8.5 points (-104)
