  • The Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks meet at Madison Square Garden for the first time this season at 7:30 PM EST on Wednesday, Jan. 13th
  • The Nets got back in the win column with a win over the Nuggets last night while the Knicks have lost three straight
  • See the best player prop bets for Wednesday’s game below

The Nets will be without the services of Kyrie Irving tonight yet again when they do battle with the Knicks as he is still on personal leave from the team. His absence was not an issue last night, as Brooklyn erased a 16-point halftime deficit to beat the Nuggets at the Barclays Center.

Julius Randle and the Knicks began 2021 with three straight wins but now are trying to right the ship after dropping their last three games.

New York has won the last two matchups by double digits after Brooklyn had won four straight in this series.

The Nets are favored by 5.5 points in this matchup and there are plenty of player props to consider.

Don’t Forget About Caris LeVert

It’s easy to forget about a guy like Caris LeVert when he is playing in the shadow of superstar teammates in Kevin Durant and Irving. We saw what he could do in the bubble last season, and on nights where one of either Durant or Irving are unavailable, we see it again.

He is a machine that can create his own shot on anyone.

In the last four games without either Irving or Durant, LeVert has averaged 26.5 points per game on 20 shots. If Steve Nash decides to scale back Durant’s minutes since they’re on a back-to-back, LeVert will be the one who benefits the most. It’s also important to remember he only played 25 minutes in last night’s game –  he is well rested.

This is a pace down spot for the Nets since the Knicks play at the slowest pace in the NBA. In fact, they are the only team to play slower than 100 possessions per game. This should not affect LeVert too much being that he is one of the primary scoring options at the moment.

Since January 1st, the Knicks have seen a single player on the opposing team take at least 18 shots four times and only one failed to score 30 points. LeVert could be in for a huge night tonight.

The Pick: Caris LeVert Over 19.5 points (-122)

LeVert Contributes Everywhere

Since LeVert contributes in multiple categories, he is worth a look in the points + rebounds + assists market. On a night like tonight where the Nets will be without Irving, LeVert will have added opportunity in terms of usage. He has been nothing short of great so far this season in situations like tonight.

In his last four games, LeVert has gone over 30.5 points + rebounds + assists in every one of them. Even in last night’s game where he only played 25 minutes, he was still able to hit the number. If Durant’s minutes are scaled back even a little or if the Nets are on either end of a blowout, LeVert would be in a great spot to fly over this number.

The Pick: Caris LeVert Over 30.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-113)
