Poor Thunder Defense Can’t Stop Scary Terry

Terry Rozier scored 24 in his only other game against the Thunder this season. The former Celtic has a points line of 22.5 for Monday night despite passing this number in four of his last five and nine of the previous 12. Rozier is shooting almost 42% from three over that period on north of nine attempts per game, and averaging 24.2 points per contest.

Oklahoma City is the worst defense in the NBA over the last 10. They concede the fourth-most threes in the league, and they are without a raft of rotation players including rookie sensation Josh Giddey and defensive phenom Luguentz Dort.

Rozier gets his shots up without fail. He’s only taken fewer than 16 field goal attempts once in a game since February, 5th.

This is a night where the former Celtic will be shooting relentlessly. They are the perfect conditions for Rozier to get hot, and even if it’s a blowout in the Hornets’ favor, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rozier gets into the mid-twenties before the fourth period begins.

  • Pick: Terry Rozier over 22.5 points (-112)

Jrue Assists Bucks against Utah

All eyes will be on Giannis Antetokounmpo versus Rudy Gobert. Perhaps the most important factor as the Jazz take on the Bucks, though, is how their perimeter defenders cope with Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. We know what Gobert can do, but concerns remain about Utah’s ability to stop opposing guards from attacking off the bounce.

Holiday is once again having a great under the radar season. His 6.5 assists line seems on the low side – he’s gone over this in six of the last eight. The former Pelican averages 7.2 dimes per game across the previous 10 outings, more than Luka Doncic, Steph Curry and Ja Morant.

Whether operating in the pick-and-roll with Giannis or kicking out to shooters, Holiday is going to have the ball in his hands a lot as the Bucks look to target the Jazz’s guards. Royce O’Neale will likely take the Middleton assignment, leaving Holiday with a favorable matchup.

This is too good to turn down at plus odds, Holiday has quietly been a near-elite playmaker this season, and he’s averaging more potential assists than LaMelo Ball and Cade Cunningham over the last eight.

  • Pick: Jrue Holiday over 6.5 assists (+102)
