Odds as of March 17th at FanDuel Sportsbook

Still a darkhorse in the NBA MVP odds, DeMar DeRozan going over his point total at 27.5 could be crucial for the Bulls in a marquee road game against Phoenix.

Haliburton Continues to Dish Dimes

Since Tyrese Haliburton has come over to the Indiana Pacers, he’s been on a tear. The second-year guard is averaging 18.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game for Indy, already solidifying himself as the building block of this franchise. While Haliburton does have cold nights from time to time when it comes to scoring the rock, he consistently dishes dimes.

In fact, Haliburton has hit the over in assists in four of his last five games, registering 10+ in three of those contests. The 22-year-old is now a primary ball-handler, which wasn’t the case in Sacramento.

That being said, he is elevating the play of his teammates and making a point of being the best playmaker possible on a nightly basis. Also, the Rockets allow 25.7 assists per contest, which is the 24th worst in the league. If you need more convincing, Haliburton had 12 dimes in his last meeting with Houston.

  • Pick: Tyrese Haliburton Over 8.5 Assists (-102)

Suns Lock Down DeRozan

Yes, it’s hard to imagine that taking the under in points for DeMar DeRozan would make any sense after his insane run last month where he actually dropped 38 on the Suns. But surprisingly, the Bulls star isn’t lighting up the stat sheet as much lately. Well, he’s not scoring 30+ game after game at least. DeRozan has actually hit the under in three consecutive outings, registering 25, 21, and 25 points, respectively.

Don’t get me wrong, DeMar is still impacting the game elsewhere. His assist and rebounding numbers have shot up recently. But, the veteran is in a bit of a slump just like Chicago, who are losers of three straight. Scoring 25 in a game is still extremely impressive, but bettors were getting pretty used to DeRozan going for 30 or more not long ago. The Suns are a tremendous defensive team and they play even better at home. I think they’re going to keep DeRozan under 27.5 here.

  • DeMar DeRozan Under 27.5 Points (-118)
